charlesw88 Posted August 9, 2009 Posted August 9, 2009 I read through this and wondered why he had the Danville Admirals as the best team in the area. Boyle County lost alot, but I just figured they would still be considered the best. Not taking anything away from the Admirals. Danville has have high expectations this year and they will have a great year regardless of winning a state championship or not but at this point Boyle County is the favorite in the area in my eyes. Thoughts?

Danville has have high expectations this year and they will have a great year regardless of winning a state championship or not but at this point Boyle County is the favorite in the area in my eyes. Thoughts? I saw that too. How come they didn't have the prediction part in there where they all make their predictions on each schools record and who they'll win and lose to? I love that part. As for Hal Morris.:irked: I don't know what he's thinking. IMO, I think Boyle County is still better than Danville. Not by 20 points better, but I think Boyle wins that game by a td or less. I guess we'll just have to wait until Sept. 25th to see if Hal knows what he is talking about. For now, I do not agree with Hal. How a team that is one of the favorites to win the 4A state title isn't better than a team that is a favorite to win the 2A title is beyond my comprehension. :idunno: I am assuming Boyle and Danville are both favorites to win titles in their respective classes. Am I wrong in thinking that?

How come they didn't have the prediction part in there where they all make their predictions on each schools record and who they'll win and lose to? I love that part. I don't think the staff predictions come out until the season's opening week. It seems like they usually are in on Tuesday of opening week. Look for them, then, around August 18.
gchs_uk9 Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 I am assuming Boyle and Danville are both favorites to win titles in their respective classes. Am I wrong in thinking that? I would think Boyle would be at the top of the list in 4A. Bullitt East, Bell County and Lexington Catholic are probably high on the list as well. Danville should be a top choice in 2A, along with Fort Campbell, DeSales, Newport Central Catholic, and maybe Corbin and/or Bardstown. Either way, both will definitely be top five in their class.
gchs_uk9 Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 Oh, and I was certainly glad to see Garrard County as the number three choice!
Benz_Trophies Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 Good to see that you are home Purple Pride. Sorry I didn't see you on Friday at Meet the Rebels. I saw you but couldn,t get through the crowd before you left. Maybe we can meet Friday at Montgomery County. Go Rebels.:thumb:

Go Rebels.:thumb: I won't be at Montgomery County, but, I'll definitely be at the Johnson Central game. :thumb: What's messed up for real, is that I already know what games I will miss. Lafayette-Wedding Rehearsal Dinner(If it ends early enough, I may make it by the 3rd or 4th quarter) There's always 105.1 though.:ylsuper: LexCath game 1-Fall Break Vacation(why are we playing the biggest and most important regular season game on the schedule during Fall Break??????:idunno:) I'll be in the Bahamas. Can't even sneak a listen on 105.1.:irked: Possible rematch with Bell County(Dec. 4)-Work's Christmas Dance(My wife helps to put this together so there is no getting out of this one:cry:) 3 great games. Other than the Christian County game(which I still may make it to)....I'll be at the rest.:thumb:

Rebel Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 Pre-season means nothing. Like a past coach always said "Boyle will let their pads do their talking on the field".
super Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 Advocate Messenger also has Coach Harp of Danville going for his 300th victory, and it could come vs Boyle Co. on Sept.25th providing that Danville win their first five games. Harp needs six wins to reach the 300.

Harp needs six wins to reach the 300. Getting to 5-0 before the Boyle game is certainly possible for Danville, but there are some definite road blocks along the way. The opener at Mason County will be tough, Franklin County at home won't be easy, and then they go to Corbin and Somerset for weeks 3 and 4. Danville could be 5-0 when Boyle County visits, or they could easily be 2-3.
