Considering the mindset in this country seems to be that if a student doesn't meet with the success is because of failing schools and poor teachers, this is not surprising. It couldn't possibly be the student/parents fault.

Although I do get sick and tired of hearing how much a failure I am as a teacher.

It is hard to find a job anywhere these days. I barely found a job this summer, after looking for a few weeks. Thing is, she is probably too proud to work at somewhere like McDonalds or Wal Mart, a job is a job until you find the one you want.

FWIW, any statement that I (and most others) have made in regards to our teaching system is not a persecution of you. You may or may not be a failure or a success- I haven't been in your class (and I am in no position to evaluate individual teachers). However, I do know that by eliminating the mechanisms that allow below average teachers to continue to have jobs- mainly, IMO, the fact that schools have no reason to compete for students because students are automatically allotted to them- the quality of education will go up. And if you are as good of a teacher as I suspect you are, then you have nothing to worry about (and if you are really good, I'd predict a pay raise in the future).

BBAs are a dime a dozen and barely worth the money invested without some real world experience. They are worth even less with a below average GPA. Hopefully the judge with throw her out of the courtroom with her BBA in hand and save the taxpayers from paying anymore of her frivolous filing fees.

I think this statement is pretty darn accurate. What has happened to personal resposibility for your works and deeds? If the parents and students are involved, a good education is available. I have two sons on full academic scholarships that went to public schools.

 

I salute you for doing a, too often, thankless job.
