My girlfriend was eating lunch with a friend who is an employee at Drake's in Lexington....a beer rep was there today and he said Yuengling would be in KY by next year. I'm not sure if this means that it will be sold solely at restaurants and bars or also in cans & bottles, but either way, this is great news!

Someone pass this news on to Run To State!

I sure hope it is true. If anyone here is as devoted to Yuengling as I am, and I wind up being wrong, then this will be more devestating then when Billy D turned UK down, and I don't see any better beers out there to save the day.

For those not familiar with the oldest brewery in America, here's a little history.

By the way fellas. A quick trip to Tennessee and you can get all the Yuengling you want. It is already in full distribution there. One of the best lagers ever made.

West Virginia as well, there is a distributor in Huntington. I envy the Ashland folks....

I've always got the coldweather homebrew. I make a pretty decent clone. But mines not as crisp, because I don't have a way to hold a 40 degree ferment for the length of time needed. I'm usually in the 50-55 degree range. But it's still pretty darn good.

But I sure hope you're right. I've been a Yuengling fan for 30 years.

And I've been a Yuengling fan for one year.

How much does Coldweather Lager go for? Is it illegal to sell your personal brew without a license? Does it matter than I'm not 21?

Let me know in 11 months.

Illegal to sell, but I do share a lot for free(which is legal). I make about 4 1/2 cases of various beers per month.

Under 21 you have to give me your keys and leave in the morning.:thumb:

I didn't know it was available in Tennessee, that must be a very recent thing. I intend on picking up a few cases when I head down to Destin in late August.

September of 2007 I believe is when it became available in TN.

I did not realize it either until a month ago when I was at a rehearsal dinner in Union City and they were serving it.

I make the trip to Kenova once a week for some Yuengling.

Whatever you do, don't put it in the fridge and then attempt to keep it cold on the way home. I made that mistake trying to bring some up from Sarasota for a certain person. He said it was somewhat "skunkified." Apparently, some sort of industry term. :D
