ladiesbballcoach Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 Today, I was watching my child playing golf and went to rent a cart. Usually I walk but the 5:00 AM wake up call got me hard and I didn't feel like walking the course. So, went in and asked for a cart and they said $13.00 for a spectator cart. I gave him a $20 and then he said "you the only one riding?" If I say yes, then it is $13 but a lie. If I say no and tell him my wife is riding too and it is going to be $26. GGRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am out another $13.00. Anyone else got a time we can build each other up when your worldly self wanted to do something else but your Christian side took over?
True blue (and gold) Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 Golf course owners must make a killing.
UKMustangFan Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 What does that have to do with being a Christian? Are Muslims or Jews or people of other religions not honest?

UKMustangFan Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 It's a legit question. You obviously feel that if you weren't a Christian you could've lied, so are other religions not as honest and trustworthy people as Christians?

It is a poster trying to be offended where there is no offense. It is a poster trying to read something into a post that is not there. I am done with your line of questioning in this thread because it didn't deserve the post I made here concerning it.

He's saying that the moral code he learned in his Christian upbringing--which is, undoubtedly, shared by Jews and Muslims the world over--prevented him from telling a lie just to save a few bucks.

It's a simple question, and one you have obviously chosen not to answer. I don't see how a person's religion has any bearing on whether or not they are honest or lie. Maybe I'm missing something. :idunno:

It's called human decency, and I still don't see a connection between religion and being a decent human being.
Habib Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 It's called human decency, and I still don't see a connection between religion and being a decent human being. He has simply chosen one example of adopting the lifestyle of his particular faith which does not imply or infer that those of other faiths or no faith may not partake in some or much of that lifestyle.
gametime Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 Most of the time it's hard being human. End of story...
