U10/4TH Grade nationals in Lexington

Featured Replies

Anybody making the trip to Lexington this week to watch nationals? NKY Tarheels will be playing. I am going down at least one day. Most of these kids are the NK Wildcats and the rest the Wolfpack. They have evening games all week. Should be some great young talent down there.

I believe that the NKY Tarheels will have a strong showing this week, certainly would be nice for the State and NKY basketball. I would sure like a link or an update of the progress. If somebody would be so kind to update us on their game times and scores it would be much appreciated. I am thinking about traveling down to catch a game or two.

I found the link and team list in D1. They update the scores as well.

Just got back. Tarheels win by two by over Texas Suns. Total team effort, great job guys. I spoke with Coach Mcneil and Coach Hawkins. Both very happy with their teams effort.

The Albany Bulldogs beat the Michigan state champs in the D2 nationals by 3 in their opening game. The Bulldogs only had 5 players and led by as many as 14. It was an incredible effort holding on at the end. We have 5 guards with our tallest player being about 4' 11". They laughed at us before the game started. We have a great chance to win our pool. The Bulldogs finished in the final 4 at the USSSA Nationals last week. The Louisville Elite lost by 30+ in another pool.

In D1, the tarheels won by 1, the Hoptown Hoyas won by 5-6, the Celtics lost by 30+.

NKY Tarheels U10 win by 2 tonight. Two days in a row they do not play very well and come out on top. The team needs to settle down and play their game!

Tarheels, Hoptown and Albany all win. Good job to all teams. Tarheels and Hoptown will both advance to the Championship Bracket no matter what today's out come is.

After winning this morning, Tar Heels and Hoyas face off against each other this afternoon in the Round of 16.

Tarheels proved to be the team of KY in U10. Tarheels battled through a very ugly & scrappy first half and won by 12. Tarheels went 12-14 from the line...final 56-44. Play DC Assault at 11:40 Saturday.

How is Jon Dunning doing? His mother told me he was playing with the Albany Bulldogs.

Dunning played great, he is a terriffic point guard. He plays very hard and will be an outstanding player in high school. Definitely a player to remember. Andrew Taylor from Corbin also played with the Bulldogs. He might be the best 3rd grader in the eastern half of the state. He was very impressive. Those two along with John Davis made the Bulldogs a very impressive team this week, finishing 9th in the D2 nationals. Davis averaged about 18 PPG, Taylor about 15 PPG, and Dunning about 10 PPG while running the show and playing great defense.

I watched the Tarheels today agaist the Hoyas and they are a very talented team. They have a shot to finish in the top 5 in my opinion. They have a very tough game agaist DC Assalt tomarrow. Good luck guys.
