I read the instructions on making one with itunes. What I was trying to do was sync an existing ringtone. It won't let me put it in the ringtone folder in itunes. You change it to ACC format correct?

June 30, 200917 yr Thanks for this link. I have downloaded the "Redneck", it's your mother calling. It is very funny and describes my mother-in-law to a T!

You change it to ACC format correct? That is correct. The next step is you will have to change, on your computer, so that you can see hidden file extensions. Once you do that you find the ringtone in the ACC format. You right click on it to rename it. When you rename it all you do is change the last letter in the file name to "r". Then click ok. It will then tell you that if you continue, the file will be unstable or something like that. Click continue it won't harm the file. This will automatically change any sound file to a ringtone for the Iphone. You also should make sure that the file is no longer than 30 seconds. I know it looks like it is difficult but it really on takes a few seconds once you get use to it. Edited June 30, 200917 yr by nWo
June 30, 200917 yr You can use itunes to pick the portion of the song you want to make a ringtone. I use Audacity to select what portion of a song I want to use.

It has vista and I couldn't find where to make it show extensions. I did one at work (has XP) and it worked like a charm. I will have to mess with it some more when I get home.
June 30, 200917 yr If you can receive picture messaging the absolute best website hands down is mobile17.com. You take one of your music files, set what time you want the tone to be of the song (like from 0:30 to 1:10), and it send it to you with a short wait for no cost. I have about 40 ringtones, all with high quality, and no cost.
