Track the Reds (Week 13)

Featured Replies

I guess I'm giving Jocketty too much credit.

Kind of like it was in Chicago, when Jim Hendry would give him some pieces to work with and Dusty just did whatever he wanted.

Jocketty and LaRussa were always on the same page in St. Louis ... that's one reason I still think Dusty won't be managing the Reds next year.

I would not be a bit surprised if Dusty was gone after this season.

I think he has 1 more year remaining on his contract though.

You think it will be LaRussa?

I would love that...

1-0 Arizona after 1 1/2

I don't have as much of a problem with Dusty as some do. Day in and day out he has had to start 4-5 guys that are role players at best. His best player was out for a stretch, and now his best pitcher is out. To be hanging around .500 and within 3 or 4 games of 1st place at this point in the season is a minor miracle.

Taveras and his sub-.300 OBP in the leadoff slot ... Hernandez getting more playing time than he deserves at Hanigan's expense ... all questionable decisions.

The manager makes out the lineup card, and that is one area where Dusty doesn't excel.

They should hit some grounders at Hernandez at 3rd and give him some time there in a blow out to see how well he plays it. If he does well it allows both him and Hannigan in the line up until E5 is back and puts a weak spot on the bench.

Also it frees up trading E5 or if you are dead set on E5 rises Hernandez's stock to be traded as he already has shown he can play 1st and catch. I also wouldn't be against, even though it is a stretch, seeing if he can play some RF because Bruce needs to be sent down (if he has options). He is just flat terrible as of now. Don't trade him I think one day Bruce is going to be the star of this city much like Chad Johnson used to be, but he definately needs to work some things out on the farm.

You're kidding, right?

How did Ramon Hernandez become a guy that has to be in the lineup every day?

No chance he can play RF....I agree on 3B though....atleast until Edwin gets back...I would like to see him get a series there and see if he can handle it. I love what Ramon has brought to this team, but it blows my mind that Dusty continues to have Hanigan on the bench.

Even if Ramon can't play 3B Hannigan has to be in there. His bat has been too solid not to play everyday. I agree RF is a heck of a stretch for him.

1-1

Dickerson is really starting to hit. He should be the everyday CF until he cools down.

Janish walks....Bases loaded for Harang

No outs

I like Harang's chances better than I do Taveras's of getting a run in.
