Hernandez has the better run production numbers, that's what I meant by not a big difference. Hanigan has 1 homerun and 8 RBI's in 134 AB's, that ain't middle of the lineup power.
July 3, 200917 yr How? I watched him play almost every day for a month. I'm cool with Hernandez but its hard to justify keeping Hanigan out of the lineup. Hey, at this point they both need to be in the lineup. I just think Hernandez is better player than given credit for on here and I don't think Hanigan should be starting over him.

If no one is in scoring position the 8th batter (Hanigan) is going to get challenged so that you can potentially get two outs (him and the pitcher). He has obviously produced there. However, if there are RISP he's not going to get much to hit so his opportunities are less. You're also relying on a stat to support your theory that has a grand total of 26 occurrences.
