Rondo has a lot of potential, so I'm not trying to downplay that, but I think people underestimate the benefit playing with KG, Pierce and Allen has had on his game. I don't think its inconceivable that Stuckey would flourish in that same situation. Rondo has played better to date, but I'm not convinced Stuckey wouldn't be the better player if their situations were reversed and he were the PG in Boston and Rondo was in Detroit. The problem with Stuckey is that he isn't a true PG. Sure he looked good with Billups and in spots backing him up but he is just a combo guy.

One trade the Celtics won't make is one that costs them point guard Rajon Rondo. While saying that no one is untradeable, Ainge insisted that he wouldn't do anything that would make the team worse this season. "That talk is so false," Ainge said. "We love the kid and we think he's got a very bright future. I don't anticipate any trades happening this offseason regarding any of our core players. ... We're certainly not doing anything this year to get a draft pick that's a developmental project, that's going to make it harder to win a championship this year." June 23, 200917 yr Just heard ESPN's Broussard talking about this. His take - Rondo is a pain; poor attitude and difficult to coach. If he's like this now, when not receiving a huge salary and with three superstars on the team, what's ha gonna be like in a few years?

Rondo, 24, a rapidly developing point guard, has been publically termed off-limits by Ainge in trade discussion this summer. Nevertheless, his name found a way into this conversation. June 24, 200917 yr I wouldn't trade Rondo, I think he has the potential to be the fourth or fifth best point guard in the NBA, Stuckey could be good, but I don't think he will be anywhere close to Rondo.
