I am very curious to know because he has already signed to play with USI and is still on their roster for the upcoming season...the roster can be found by clicking here. Since he has already signed with USI, he wouldn't be able to transfer to NKU due to the 25% Rule that I had previously talked about. PM me when you have a second to chat :thumb:

June 23, 200917 yr It's indeed a shame that a University the size of NKU (and growing) is still playing D2 basketball and indeed with as nice of a home court as the BOKC is, when school smaller than NKU like Morehead and Murray play D1 and compete quite nicely in the OVC and the Big Dance. I don't know that making the jump to D1 would be as beneficial to NKU as you think...

I mean can you be a school of 18,000 and still be in D2? Why do you say that when Murray State and Morehead both are D1 schools and are much, much smaller than NKU. BTW the OVC would be a great fit for NKU as you do not have to play football to be in the league!

I doubt the travel expense would be much more than what they already deal with. Most schools in the OVC are a bus trip away.

Going D1 requires a huge investment annually by the school and NKU doesn't have the funds nor can they raise the funds through boosters.

The first few years of transition will be expensive and hard and I think they will eventually move in that direction. With the current economic conditions I cannot see Votruba and the Board of Regents justifying expenditures while facing cuts on the academic side. Howver, a move to DI will only help the athletics program in the long run.
