June 21, 200917 yr Second half is going to be interesting. Italy on -2 GD right now, US on -4, Egypt on -1. US would need to win at least 3-0 to have any hope to advance. Italy would have to lose by 4 to Brazil. Still very hard to do, but possible.
June 21, 200917 yr Italy is well on their way to losing by 4 or even 5. They are getting dismantled by Brazil. I'm not sure the US team can prevent a goal, however. They have been very fortunate thus far. I never even thought it would be possible, but there is still a chance.
June 21, 200917 yr Onyewu is playing his heart out as always for the US. His defense has been superb from his center position, and he has set the US up with some nice opportunities. I wish Donovan would try to get a couple shots on goal in the second half, Dempsey just doesn't have it today. Davies is trying a little too hard IMO also, I know he is a striker and has scored our only goal but if he would take a little bit of Donovan's unselfishness then it may translate into more American goals. Like to also see a couple of subs in the second half. None-the-less, go Americanos!!!! If Italy continues to get shut out, and Brazil puts another one or two through the net, and we can score a couple more theres a nice chance of moving on.

We must keep Egypt from scoring though, and I don't know if we will be able to. Shut them out, put a couple more in, depending on how Italy's second half goes, we should be in. Lot of ifs though.
