He's got to get the shot up a little more in that situation. If he put the ball head length it is a US goal.

Actually the right move is to go low there from that close, do not want to risk putting it over. Struck it well, official just totally blew it. I could tell it was handled without the replay, replay confirmed it.

I disagree. Sure, there's a risk of putting it over, but he was in close enough to get it up. A lot of red shirts on the line, and a red shirt was who really kept the ball from going in (close, close call, got him on the leg before hitting the arm). You get the ball at least chest high then its almost impossible for one of the red shirts to deflect without trying to use their arms/hands.

It matters not whether it his the leg before hitting the arm. The outstretched arm prevented the ball from going in. The arm was outstreched with intent as well, because your natural motion to kick the ball right footed your right arm would roll back behind the body. It is an easy call really, I am shocked the refs blew it.

I would have really liked the US's chances to convert a PK an get a third with 35 minutes to play and up a man. We still may get after them, Egypt are reeling a little.

Goalllll Bradley!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree with you I felt he missed the call, but I don't think it was as easy of a call as it looks on tv and on replay when your out there. My point is it deflected off his leg first. Get the ball up past his legs, then 1.) its a clear handball 2.) more than likely it gets through.

I was under the impression that the US needed Italy to lose by 4. I didn't realize that it was goals for, not against that was the next tiebreaker. So the US needs the Brazil game to stay frozen, and to score again here.

I was as well, even more important that handball looms.
