Senior Bowl set for summer ‘fun’

Football series gives northeastern Kentucky talent one last chance to shine

By ADAM VANKIRK — The Independent

There’s nothing like football in the middle of summer. That’s what the Northeastern Kentucky East/West Senior Bowl is selling anyway.

The fourth annual bowl game, which boasts a swarm of local talent, is teeing up the pigskin for another go-round on Friday. The 7:30 kickoff at Bath County’s nearly new field will culminate a week’s worth of practice for both teams that began on Sunday.

Ram and Little Ram will be there. Who else is going?

I would love to be there but I have to take Mrs. Sidelinedoc to the beach for a week of sun and sand.

Papa and family have made it to the past two of these games.

I consulted my Magic 8-Ball, and got "Signs point to yes."

Google gives me an address for Bath County HS of 405 West Main Street, Owingsville. Is this the location of the footabll field?

Unless they have moved it, yes. It's right beside the high school.

Coup & little Coup will be there along with the whole family to see Joe Bobs last game.

Thought they moved the field down by the drag strip off of 64. ?? Anyone know for sure?

I heard none of the Mason County players will be playing for various reasons; can anyone confirm this?

I believe many Ashland players will not be playing, due also to various reasons such as vacations and lack of interest.

This could dramatically change papa's 8-ball response.

I know Cooper and Thompson are playing, not sure about Owens.

Sackmaster and family will be there to support Ryan Hackworth, Grant Darnell, and Tyler Cundiff of Montgomery County. Coacher is correct Thompson and Cooper are playing, and Ashland Tomcat is also correct none of the big Ashland linemen are playing.
