June 7, 200917 yr It's pretty much unanimous that the Heisman Trophy Winner will come from a trio of Quarterbacks this season. Florida's Tim Tebow and Oklahoma's Sam Bradford already have a Heisman Trophy, but Texas' Colt McCoy is just as deserving of a canidate as Bradford and Tebow. I am putting my money on tebow to take a second Heisman, Florida has a very good chance to go undefeated, while either Bradford or McCoy are guaranteed a loss. Who else are Heisman Canidates? My Top 10: 1.Tim Tebow-Florida 2.Colt McCoy-Texas 3.Sam Bradford-Oklahoma 4.Jevan Snead-Ole Miss 5.Jahvid Best-Cal 6.Dez Bryant-Oklahoma State 7.LaGarrette Blount-Oregon 8.Darryl Clark-Penn State 9.Zac Robinson-Oklahoma State 10.Jonathan Dwyer-Georgia Tech.
June 7, 200917 yr If the Gators are playing in the BCS Championship game again, then I'll be disappointed if Tebow doesn't get it.
June 7, 200917 yr Go ahead and count Bradford out, IMO. I don't think the voters will allow him to be a two time winner in the same era of Tebow. Hard to justify Giving Bradford two Heismans and leaving Tebow with one, IMO. The only way that happens is IF Gators lose 2 or more games/Tebow is hurt, and if Texas loses two or more games with a loss to Oklahoma. IMO, it will either be Tebow, McCoy or a wildcard such as Snead if Ole Miss can make a great run this season.

Bradford winning it again and having 2 Heisman's to Tebow's 1 is nonsensical.......
June 7, 200917 yr I can see Bradford winning it again. If the top 3 QBs put up similar stats from last season AND Bradford and OU beat Texas and win out, the award will go to Bradford. This is as likely a scenario as any, IMO. I do think Tebow is the favorite, but I can easily see Bradford winning or McCoy. Anyone else would be shocking to me.

I think alot of voters around the country will leave Bradford off the ballot (like Tebow last year) and I think the voters in Big 12 country will leave Tebow off the ballot. McCoy is the safe pick, even if Texas loses to Oklahoma. The "Big 3" will not doubt finish 1, 2, and 3, but I think Bradford simply will not win it even if he is the most deserving.
June 8, 200917 yr Aaron Corp at USC has got 5 returning offensive lineman, a stable of returning running backs, 2 returning TE's, and 3 or 4 extremely good returning WR's. With than ensemble, he may head up the most explosive offense in the nation, potentially. Bradford lost 4 starting OL to graduation and NFL. I don't think he will have the time to put up the repeat numbers. If Baylor wins 7-8 games, Robert Griffin will be recognized for what he is - one of the finest all around athletes to come around in while. He won't win it, but could get invited to NYC.

I love everything that you said there. I wanted to say that I think Griffin can make it to NY, but I didn't know if anyone else thought so. I think with a good season for both him and the Bears that his Junior year he could be the favorite. He won't win it, but he can make a nice showing this season. Griffin is what Pryor should be/is suppose to be. The only thing about Corp is that he barely beat out true frosh Matt Barkley in the spring. Barkley is an all-world talent no doubt, but you have to wonder a little bit about both Corp and Mustain if Pete Carroll was thinking about starting a true frosh.
June 8, 200917 yr Author Griffin will be a Heisman finalist next year IMO. And he will also be the #1 pick in the NFL Draft in 2011.
June 9, 200917 yr For someone to win twice, they would have to be markedly better than what we have seen anytime in the near past.....remember past winners vote as well, and they don't want to be upstaged. I look for McCoy to win it. Add to that, the rumor that Florida is looking to go more pro-style in offense (no doubt to help Tebow in draft position), and tebow could struggle early. He is not a proto-typical pro style QB.

He is not a proto-typical pro style QB. I don't see UF going to a pro-style offense any time in the forseeable future if Urban Meyer is there. The spread is what has won them two national championships in three seasons, so going to the pro-style to benefit one player-albeit Tim Tebow-doesn't make sense to me. While it is hard for someone to win it two times, Tebow has the resume, he is beloved in the eyes of every major media outlet in the country, he's won two conference championships, in the toughest conference in America and has also won two National Championships. So if he is undefeated and his stats are somewhat comparable to last year's I think he wins it. He just has an allure to him-yes, I'm a Gators fan, but it's gotten old with me, as well-that the media just seems to love. I think he wins it this year, he should have won last year, but not in 2007, that should have been either Dennis Dixon or Darren McFadden. Just my opinion.

He is not a proto-typical pro style QB. Don't believe the garbage that UF will go away from the spread. Sure they will have Tebow take some snaps under center, but I believe it will be a change of pace or after the game has already been decided. They do not recruit the type of players necessary at RB and WR to have a pro-style offense, mainly RB. Demps and Rainey really only fit the spread, DeBose the frosh has been promised a shot at "The Percy Position", etc. I do believe you will see some under center things, but it won't be their offense. Two things you have to think about when discussing that. No doubt they want to help Tebow, but more importantly is John Brantley the heir-apparent at QB. He has the tools to be a great passer, but he isn't a Tebow, McCoy, Vince Young type guy... A spread guy. The switch to some more basic types of things no doubt has an effect on who's coming up for the Gates. Another things is that when you say a pro-style, if you take the gimmick out of Florida's offense (crazy-option, Jump pass, etc.) they do actually have some pro elements. Zone blocking, power runs, even the passes are pro-styled just out of the gun. Now, when you have a player like Harvin you can get into all the window dressing, but the offense that Chris Leak ran was some what Pro-style to me, only it was out of the gun. Just my thoughts, but look for Tebow to be in the gun a minimum of 90% of the time.
June 9, 200917 yr While I think Tebow will deserve the award, McCoy will win it, IMO. I think depending on where the voters are they will either keep Tebow or Bradford off the ballot, and McCoy will be the man getting votes from everywhere. That is a problem though to me, if you didn't vote for those 3 last year in some order 1-3 then you shouldn't get to vote again.
