Yeah, that sure is never going to happen.

 

I've always taken this tack about it though. Soccer is a whole lot of fun to play. It's not for everyone, but it was a lot of fun to play. If it's not the World Cup or qualifying for the World Cup, I cannot make myself watch it at all. And that is where it fails. It is just not that fun to watch.

Yeah, that sure is never going to happen.

And if everybody wants to play, but few want to watch (and by extension, even fewer want to PAY to watch), soccer will never approach the popularity of baseball, football, basketball or stock-car racing.

 

And there will be those that claim that I don't care to watch because I don't know enough about the nuances and strategy of the game to appreciate it.

 

I know just enough to know that I don't like to watch, either.

I for one can never get tired of the Chuckster (the T-Mobile commercial for the "Old School" video game gets me every time)...the rest of them were pretty good.

What about ESPN bowling? Do they ever get good ratings?
