Very nice work. I really enjoyed your review of the talent coming in as well as the history of the DDM.:thumb:

The only one I have a little concern about is Orton. It's not because he lacks talent, but he is just more of a traditional big man and not necessarily what I think of as a great fit for the DDM. That being said, I'm sure after a summer of hard work, he'll be just fine.

Yeah he'll be great IMO. I haven't seen too many big men move the way he does at his size.

If you look in the NBA you will see plenty...Grasshopper, now you are ready!:dancingpa

^ Of course in the NBA, but most guys that size in high school are just big and sloppy. Daniel runs the floor WELL, and combining the quick feet with the size and strength will turn him into a pro one day. I'll take a future pro on my roster any day, especially one with that kind of size and strength. He'll do fine in the DDM.

You have learned well, Grasshopper. Please continue your quest for knowledge on the outside.:eyeonyou:

I absolutely agree. Orton may leave UK as one of the all-time greats.

Orton is a great fit for the weak side big man role in the DDM. See Dorsey, Joey.

Cousins is more of a face up 4, so when he plays with Patterson you will not usually see him on the block. Patterson will get his time at the 4 mostly when Orton is in the game...

True GT, but only for one year. Orton will be here for more than that. IMHO.

That's what I was thinking GT. Orton fits the offense fine. Memphis the last few years has always had an Orton type on the floor. You need a banger on that weak side. Orton will be fine, and I think besides Wall he may make the easiest transition out of all the Frosh.

When Cousins and Patterson are playing together, you think Cousins will be the 4 and PPat the 5?

Yes. Cousins is not a true post player, and Patterson is much better suited for the weak side power guy in the DDM. Go check out the blog I wrote for you on Cousins... :D

I've been trying to tell people this all along. In no way is Cousins a five, in any system, or on any team.
