I would say that you are right Pepper II. Just figured that it would have been done by now. I geuss that they are dotting the i's and crossing the t's.

I am going to agree with Pepper on this one and say Evans is the man and has been the man since the job was opened. Timing is everything,and if Elam were to go to say a school like Pineville then it would make it much easier for Coach Evans to take the position and not ruffle old friends feathers. I can not see Messer being considered. He and Coach Elam are very similar in coaching respects, so a change in direction must be the goal here.

1. Rumor has it Strange is going to AD position. Not sure if this is true at all, but makes sense. Elam's brother is already coaching football for the Lions.

2. Former coaches on staff make it more difficult for a new coach to install his system for various reasons.

3.Unless Messer has changed since he left the area, he is high strung. Not sure Hulett wants this sort of behavior again, but what do I know about things. I am still in love with Olivia Newton John and Xanadu....lol

The assistant from SC is probably Nick Napier he is orignally from Bell Co and he has been at SC for a number of years. I would say that he has learned alot form Billy Hicks. He is agreat young coach that has the love for the game.

Why in the world would he? The powers to be didn't want him a month or so ago why would they now? I have never heard of someone having to interview for a job they just left, that makes no sense. IMO, Coach Elam may or may not have been done wrong before but I would think he needs to move on. Patterson would be in way over his head if they went that route. Big difference in playing basketball and coaching it with success.
