Is it true that Carlton from Gallatin applied?

 

I would be suprised. He has too much invested in his Wildcat blue wardrobe. Plus his son will be a senior at Gallatin Co next year and I can't see him moving him or coaching against him.

I heard interviews were this upcoming week! Seems they need to get this done for the sake of the program!

I understand why he left, I am just saying that not "every" coach is looking for something "better". Some coaches are content to develop what they have and take pride in seeing their kids surpass their atletic potential. Not that Holland wasn't, I just want to see HC get someone who is in for the long haul, in the long run that is when programs make the jump. Just my opinion.

 

Sure they are. It's just that not every coach's definition of the "better job" is the same. For some, the epitome is to coach their alma mater. For others, it's to be at a high-profile program. And for others, it's to find the right fit.

I completely disagree, for some coaches, they find a way to make where they are the "right fit". In high school athletics you can find MANY reasons to leave (all about perception), but MANY coaches find reasons to stay. A lot to be said about a guy building a program for the long haul. Lots of examples of guys who stay in one place for more than 5-6-7 or 8 years and find satisfaction in what they do without finding something "better".

Any word on this?? Camps starting up and dead period right around the corner???!!

This would seem to be a good job IMO. Henry Co. has a big school and the 8th region isn't very strong.

I was told interviews were done a week ago. I wonder if the job has been offered and applicants are pulling out.

He applied for the West Jessamine job after Hammonds left for Letcher Central. He was an assistant coach there and was running the summer league stuff for West.

 

He is a fiery young coach. He was a standout player at Boyle. He will do a decent job and will grow and mature as a young head coach.
