This keeps getting proven over and over in here. The "hold your applause until the end" is something that the "ME" crowd doesn't have to abide by. Rules? Common courtesy? Ettiquite? Who needs 'em? It's everyone for themselves doing whatever the heck they want to do. Makes me ill. :puke:

What's rude is what they did at my high school, they wouldn't pause for the hollers, just read through so a lot of people missed their child's name. In my Undergrad he patiently waited (all 20 seconds) for the noise to die down, that way everyone heard.

 

I think it's silly that people expect graduation to be a solemn time, it should be a celebration of an accomplishment after years of hard work! It is not a solemn ceremony like a wedding. And it is silly to link the two.

A wedding is before God and family, a commitment to a life of marriage. Graduation is a celebration of an accomplishment. They can't be compared.

Well I guess we can throw Coach Calipari into the idiot category. Per his twitter he embarrassed his daughter at UMass's graduation when he let out with a loud scream. Now, I don't know if this asked everyone to hold their applause or not, but if they did. :sssh::lol:

I'm just guessing here, but I would think most of us that have a problem with this are in or near our 50's.

 

It got a little rowdy at my graduation but my family stayed quiet. A few of my friends yelled a couple of my nicknames (not bad ones :thumb:) out under their breath and I thought it was a little funny. Some of the families were a little obnoxious though, and probably embarrassed their children a little bit.
