Edwin is probably eligible to come of the DL today, but he certainly isn't coming of the DL today.

All ok, I thought i heard someone say he was ready today.

What is the Reds Record with Rosales in the starting lineup? 5 over?

What is the Reds Record with Rosales in the starting lineup? 5 over?

We're not going to say he's the reason for that right? There are quite a few people on the team that are hitting great this month that didn't hit good last month. He's brought energy and hustle, but it helps when multiple guys go on multiple day hitting streaks. By the way what's the Reds record when Hernandez finishes a game playing 1B?

I understand your disdain for Rosales. I get it. My question is this: Do you think that Edwin is a longterm answer at third for this team?

If Dusty puts Edwin and Gonzo back in the line up, I'm afraid we will lose out momentum. He will likely do just that IMO.

Did I say he was the reason for the record with him in the starting lineup?

NO.

So, please someone look it up for me. I am too lazy to do it. :idunno:

"He's brought energy and hustle"... Your words not mine.:thumb:

I honestly think there are two things to consider when asking yourself, is Rosales the reason this team is playing better...

#1... 2 wins without Votto in the lineup against the first place St. Louis Cardinals.

#2... Brandon Phillips started out the season loafing, not hitting, and playing poorly, after Rosales' "Spark" he has picked his game up. How many extra bases has he TAKEN in this two game set already?

I actuallly like Rosales. I'm just pointing out that he's getting a little too much credit. He's terrible defensively which has been some peoples biggest complaint about EE. I think Rosales should get more time at 3rd to see what he can do. Edwin should learn LF quickly on his rehab stint, but I think Rosales might be better in LF.

Do you know the answer about Ramon finishing a game at 1B? Should we replace Votto b/c the team is doing well w/ Votto out of the lineup?

EE might not be the longterm answer, but he's only signed for this year and next.

Votto finished the loss against St. Louis. He also missed the game before that against Milwaukee that the Reds won. He didn't finish last night which the Reds won. So that is 4-0. We should sit him.

I'm not going to contribute BP coming bback to where his baseball card indicates he should be to Rosales' "Spark". It's easier to hustle when you're putting the ball in play and get on base. BP has done that his entire time here w/o Rosales on the roster.

Rosales looks good and plays hard which is great. He deserves more time. He isn't responsible for 5 guys getting hot this month.

I agree that Rosales would be better in LF. He has a cannon, and he has actually played some LF before. I would still play Rosales over E-5 at 3B against righties, and then move Rosales to LF against lefties, and left E-5 play 3B.

Did you really just say that we should sit Votto?

It's called sarcasm.

Here are some of the biggest reasons why the Reds have been so successful this past week:

Willy Taveras - 13/27 (.481 AVG), 1 HR, 5 RBI, 4 SB, 3 BB, 2 K, 7 Runs

Jerry Hairston Jr - 11/28 (.393 AVG), 2 HR, 6 RBI, 2 SB, 1 BB, 3 K, 8 Runs - 1 horribly failed bunt attempt.

Jay Bruce - 7/29 (.241 AVG), 4 HR, 7 RBI, 1 SB, 2 BB, 4 K, 5 Runs

Brandon Phillips - 9/20 (.450 AVG), 2 HR, 5 RBI, 4 Runs

Adam Rosales - 8/24 (.333 AVG), 2 HR, 2 RBI, 1 BB, 2 K, 6 Runs

Ramon Hernandez - 7/22 (.318 AVG), 0 HR, 4 RBI, 2 BB, 4 K -- Hernandez is up to .280 on the year, I think.

The way that this team has turned it on offensively is amazing. Hairston seems to play an entirely different game when he's in the lineup at SS. No way you pull him for Gonzalex or Janish until he cools off.

Making for sure! :thumb:

You don't see many guys almost fall down from their home run swing like BP did last night.

I would be fine w/ that. When he goes on a slump EE wouldn't be a bad backup plan. After he gets back from this injury seeing the way Rosales has played if he doesn't go hard I'd be fine w/ him riding pine the rest of the way.
