June 17, 200917 yr But why? That's what I've always wondered since this phone came out. Why do you need internet access at the drop of a dime? Why do you need to replace your current iPod with a $30/month one? Unless you travel constantly, have business needs, or is your only internet source, why does the casual person need one of these? I'm not directing these question directly at you. I've just been trying to grasp what the craze is about these phones. Like DragonFire mentioned, you're talking over $700 extra a year. It would be $700 extra for him because of the increase in the overall plan. If you got a plan that was the same as your current plan price wise then it would only be $360 more a year.

July 8, 200917 yr Author Fought another hour at the store with them. They lied to me, changed my bill without asking and got caught, forgot to call me back, forgot to call me back again, challenged that I hadn'd stopped by only to be caught red handed from an email they sent etc. It's to the point I'm calling the better business burea (sp) and thinking about having a lawyer send a draft. They told me to go home and call customer service. I told them to call them since they screwed up and I wanted them there when I talked to them. Customer service said it was the store that screwed up etc. AT+T in Ashland is pathetic! They try to find ways to sneak and eat up your money. Their hope is to wear you down with foolishness until you give up and just pay the extra money they scam. They tried to scam my parents and got caught. It took my parents getting a lawyer to write a letter for them to admit that they were in the wrong. It's a shame how they treat loyal customers. They basically said we were wrong on multiple occasions, gave you the shaft and aren't going to do anything about it. We do apologize though.

Sorry to hear AT&T has been giving you the run around, but it doesn’t surprise me. IMO AT&T really went downhill when they bought out Cingular and Bell South. The store representatives work for one part of the company and the customer service representatives work for a completely different contract company. Then you throw Apple into the mix and it gets downright confusing. I bought my Iphone 3G three days before they announced the release of the 3GS. The store worked with me pretty well and I exchanged my 3G for the 3GS for the $20 restocking fee. They also offered to refund $100 of the $199 that I originally paid if I chose to keep the 3G. It was worth the extra $20 for me because of the increased processor, battery life, twice the storage, and additional functionality.
July 8, 200917 yr I never thought I would enjoy a phone as much as I am this iPhone. I am addicted to it's uses and it's conveniences.

I wasn't going to buy the other one but the guy said "you might as well be this one now because you will have everything the new phone will have". The customer service has been awful because they have forgotten me multiple times when they are supposed to call back. They try to wear you down till you give up. I had a 30 day return policy but they blew me off during that time. If they hadn't then I could have returned mine, got the money back then handed them that same amount for the new one:ohbrother:
July 8, 200917 yr I never thought I would enjoy a phone as much as I am this iPhone. I am addicted to it's uses and it's conveniences. Isn't it great? I'll have had mine for a year next month. I really don't think I would make it if I had to go without it! I posted game updates from Nicholas Co. last year all from my iphone. I used it to map our route on vacation. I use it to watch movies, listen to satellite radio and so much more! The family is constantly asking me to do things for them on it. Did you get the new 3gS doc? I really want to upgrade but just can't do it right now. It's much faster than my regular 3g. There's been reports of some problems with them though. Some have overheated, and got so hot that the case turned brown on the white models. But with all first models that come out there's always a few bugs that need worked out. So I'm sure they'll get it all lined out. And sorry to hear about your problems stick1. I've always had everything go great with the store in Ashland. I haven't really had anything happen to be questioned though. I basically bought the phone, got the plan, pay the bill.

I would take my phone, original receipt, any emails received, and my most recent bill to the store and ask to speak to the store manager or owner. The customer service center is of no use, especially since you bought the phone at the store. The only thing that the CSC might be able to do is refund money from your bill. Some reps will do that and they are allowed to refund up to $250 without a Team Leader’s approval. Unfortunately it is up to the CSC Reps discretion and some won’t refund money no matter how wrong AT&T is. My wife used to work for their CSC and it was such a poorly run operation she has since quit.

I would have just taken it back for a refund and paid the same amount for the new one but they acted like they could take care of it.. just had to get it approved from a higher up. Told me they'd let me know in a couple of days. Went back to the store and they said another week or two because they were slammed. A month later they said it was too late to return and I missed the exchange date by 2 days. What bothers me is I wouldn't have bought it but the guy said "you might as well by this one now because it has all the same features...(not true)!"

That guy probably didn’t have a clue what the new 3GS had or didn’t have until Apple released it. He might have been thinking about the new OS 3.0 which was released right after the new iPhone. Maybe if you contacted Apple and explained this to them they might work with you. I’ve never dealt with Apple directly so I’m not sure how they treat their customers, but it can’t be as bad as AT&T
July 8, 200917 yr I have the new 3Gs and I really like it, sharp phone, I like it better than the original iPhone.
