It was an intentional elbow. That's an ejection every time IMO.

He didn't clean his clock he didn't even knock him back hardly he was trying to get him off his back, he didn't "throw" an elbow. Thats how you clear space to get a rebound. Get you arms up and move the guy back. It's not even close to how you guys are making it out to be. Now it is probably not as clean as I see it either so I would say it is somewhere in the middle which is a non issue. Should have been a foul possibly flagrant but nothing more. This is the playoffs, man up.

Kobe has been involved in multiple incidents. The one against Manu & the Spurs & there is at least one more...

I'm looking for a video to show the incident I'm talking about. I know it happened multiple times, where Kobe took a shot & hit the defender in the face.

I wouldn't say what he did to Artest was an accident at all. I just don't think it was that big of a deal really.

Artest supposedly said to Kobe something like, "you know you were trying to hit the wrong guy". Artest is one guy that I wouldn't want to fight, he's large and possibly insane. Something crazy will happen in this serires. Either a fight or Kobe will drop 70 or something.... Stay tuned.

IMO the Kobe elbow was worst than the "Skip to my Lou" head slap, and although two different things, if the slap got a suspension then Kobe's elbow should because it was worst. Thus I think you give a suspension. The debate between the elbow's Kobe threw and the bows Dwight threw has already been heavily debated it appears , but just throwing out a different angle. On a sidenote the NBA do't wan't to lose one of its feature attractions for a playoff game, and this probably had a lot to do with him not having to sit for a game. You can argue this is not the case via Dwight Howard, but two totally different markets, two totally different series', and two totally different kinds of superstars.

 

Artest has took some bangs this series, and usually he'll still almost end up in the villan role because of his past.

If Artest throws that elbow, he may be out for the rest of the playoffs... BTW Fisher should maybe look into playing LB or DB at Oakland...He Jacked Scola up

FWIW, I don't really think he should have been suspended. I don't like Kobe, make no mistake about that, but I think they got it right. It's just funny to me to see how these conversations go. You've got you, HT, and a few other Kobe fans, and it seems you're always pro Kobe no matter the situation. Same on the other side of the spectrum, where many seem to be against him and think he's in the wrong no matter what.

 

I agree with you that I am pro-Kobe in almost every argument. That mostly comes from all of the hate towards him to be honest. If he had done something like Dwight Howard, I would say that he should be suspended.

I agree that there is a huge difference in where you hit somebody with an elbow.

I do think an elbow is worse than a slap, but smacking a dude up side the head like that is not part of the game in any way. An elbow like Kobe's has happened thousands of times in basketball.

I wouldn't call that "throwing" an elbow. Like it or not past history does matter in a situation like that. Kobe isn't a dirty player and IMO I don't think it was a dirty elbow. I think it was in the heat of the rebound and he was saying get off my back. Artest clearly fouled him on the play and Kobe gave him a little elbow to knock him off and fouled him back. They missed the call no doubt about that, it should have been a flagrant during the game. That's playoff basketball IMO. I don't think it was done to harm him in anyway. No way can you suspend him for that. What other time did he throw an elbow? That one game against the Spurs when he hit Manu?

I agree with you that it should have been a flagrant, and I don't think a suspension is warranted. HOWEVER, if the roles were reversed, there is little doubt in my mind that Artest would be suspended. Kobe and LeBron and them are like patents- the NBA is going to do everything they can to protect them. It is the hypocrisy, not the call itself, that is coming into question.
