June 5, 200917 yr Author The Republican party better hope Trey Greyson runs because Jim Bunning doesn't stand a chance. Wasn't Jim Bunning voted the least compitent U.S. Senator by Rolling Stone magizine a couple of years ago? I look for a Greyson-Conway race in the general election and it should be a highly contested race. Rolling Stone is a total joke. A liberal piece of political junk masking as a music magazine. I also doubt that a lot of Bunning supporters past and present read RS.
June 5, 200917 yr Probably doesn't matter how strong a candidate the Republicans put up if Obama stays popular. As I think it was stated earlier, the DNC is gonna buy this one IMO. Uh, didn't Pres. Obama lose in Ky? Didn't McConnell win his senatorial race? I realize things may have changed some in Ky since 08, but people need to realize how conservative Ky really is. If the Dems run a candidate that Ky thinks is liberal, it won't matter how popular Obama is, in my opinion. Furthermore, I believe that if the Dems in Congress attempt to abuse their control and power, it will cause a lot of Ky voters to consider the effect of replacing a R with a D.
June 5, 200917 yr Trey is considering a run. He has formed an exploratory committee. I sent some money. Trey is an excellent candidate, he said he wasn't interested a year ago, but I think Bunning's most recent behavior has caused him to reconsider.I received my "exploratory committee" email today from Greyson.
June 5, 200917 yr As a liberal Grayson would be the only person that I would vote for. Out of curiousity, which of Grayson's specific stances on the positions would allow you to vote for him instead of Paul or Bunning?
July 29, 200917 yr With Bunning dropping out I suspect this is a good time to bring this back to the top...

July 29, 200917 yr Go ahead. Try to. You know you've thought about how silly you will sound/have sounded when you utter a phrase such as this: "I'm not sure who I'm gonna vote for in oh-ten." But you know you're doomed to use it at least once or twice unwittingly.
July 29, 200917 yr And even more of a reason to add this to the thread. :thumb: I emailed them to volunteer yesterday, I hope they give me something to do, I've never worked on a campaign before.

July 29, 200917 yr Nice, let me know how it goes. I may do the same if I can get a little more free time. Lame excuse. You know how extremely busy I am with my job and everything.
July 29, 200917 yr You all should get in behind Trey, at a bare minimum because you would then get an invitation to a fall party at Hearsay's country house for a Grayson fundraiser, which would likely include Guinness beer, Scotch eggs, Irish music, and women in slinky evening gowns. After all, all politics really is self-interest, isn't it?
