'10 Senate Race

Featured Replies

Is Conway popular? I'm not a follower of KY politics (although I should be). I know that Conway has $1.3 million.

former, you hear about the Rand Paul moneybomb on Aug. 20th? Many of your tax dollars will be going to it (via me).

He is pretty popular among Dems in the state. He is from Louisville (still lives here I believe) and unsuccessfully ran against Northup (maybe in '04 or '02). I'm not a fan but I think he would be a formidable opponent were he to win the Democratic nomination. Regardless the Dems will pour tons of money into this race.

Oh yea, I'm signed up for all the Paul groups to keep me informed. CCH, you should look into going to Fancy Farm, I think you may enjoy it from what I've heard. Plus, selfishly, I would have someone to report back to me. :D (also you would get to meet Gatewood and Paul).

Wish I could but I have to babysit the little brothers this weekend in NKY.

Take them with you, lol.
You all should get in behind Trey, at a bare minimum because you would then get an invitation to a fall party at Hearsay's country house for a Grayson fundraiser, which would likely include Guinness beer, Scotch eggs, Irish music, and women in slinky evening gowns.

After all, all politics really is self-interest, isn't it?

I'll be a server if you need one.

Grayson in '10!

Out of curiousity, why the Irish theme?

I'm Scotch-Irish, and that type of atmosphere tends to put people in the giving mood.

Hey buddy, you're going to laugh yourself out of an invite!:D

The Republican party better hope Trey Greyson runs because Jim Bunning doesn't stand a chance. Wasn't Jim Bunning voted the least compitent U.S. Senator by Rolling Stone magizine a couple of years ago?

I look for a Greyson-Conway race in the general election and it should be a highly contested race.

If I were Bunning I would wear that distinction as a badge of honor!

Conway cried on TV when he lost the Northup race. :puke:

First public poll is out....Poll: Rand Paul Could Win U.S. Senate Seat in Kentucky[/b]

Paul trails GOP frontrunner Trey Grayson by only 11 points, 37-26. Among “conservative” Republican voters, he only trails by 7 points. And Paul only trails the two potential Democratic nominees by single digits.

Analysis:

Mainstream Republicans will be shocked by the early strength for Rand Paul. While among moderates, Trey Grayson has a commanding 50% - 19% lead, among conservatives who may be more motivated to vote in the climate of the off-year election, Grayson leads only by seven points, 35% - 28%.

Great news for Rand Paul ahead of his scheduled "MONEYBOMB" internet fundraiser on August 20. It paints him as a legitimate candidate and not a fringe candidate.

That is AWESOME news. Love the early support for Paul. Can't wait to show my Granddaddy (a very staunch Republican) who says Paul has a snowball's chance.
