I wouldnt root against this team as a whole throughout an entire season. Maybe when they are playing a team I have a particular interest in. I think Holmes represents NKY quite well.

However, you know there are plenty of people that can't get past them getting another stud transfer showing up on campus. The rich getting richer is difficult for some to swallow and it causes people to root against them. You see it with Highlands football.

To clear the Avery situation up.... as of right now it's simply a rumor. I spoke with one of the Holmes players and they confirmed it to just be a rumor. He hasn't been playing with Holmes and the player hasn't heard anything about Avery coming to Holmes.

It seems odd that the Conner faithful and players are reporting he's heading to Holmes, but the Holmes faithful and players have heard nothing about it and they play AAU ball with him. Maybe people are just trying to keep it quiet on one side until actually happens?

This is the first I have heard of Avery possibly being at Holmes, although it does not surprise me. IMO, this is a wise decision on his part if he does leave. The amount of exposure he will get playing with the Holmes group would most likely triple his chances at picking up a scholly. Holmes garners a tremendous amount of attention. No offense to the Conner team, but I have to feel like you are going to see Holmes down in Lexington again this year.

"Meach" was not with Conner at the Georgetown camp last weekend and he does play with the Holmes trio on the AAU "Players" squad. It was the rumor at camp last week but is to this point only a rumor.........BTW he has played with the Players for years and has never transferred to Holmes yet, sit tight people !

I saw Holmes and do not remember anyone that tall. There is a young kid that's fairly tall that is a bit raw but may become a player.

Final answer: Demetrius Avery will not be at Conner next year. Too bad for the Cougars.
