Up and Coming Big Men in KY

Featured Replies

Good luck to the Firebirds. Jack Stewart will be playing up with this team this weekend.

Is Jack going to be playing with the Firebirds the rest of the year??

I was told that the Bulldogs picked up another Northern Kentucky player to add to their roster. Travis Montgomery of Boone County High School.

Travis is a solid addition to their roster.

Travis Montgomery is a great player! Why wasn't he on a roster already?

Jack is only playing this one tournament with the Firebirds. He normally plays for the NKY Bulldogs who are off this week.

Travis Montgomery is an excellent pickup for the Bulldogs. He recently finished up his baseball season and an opening in the Buldlogs lineup occured. This can be chalked up to good timing. I beleive that Montgomery brings alot of depth to their roster.

The Firebirds were one of the biggest suprises for me at the KY state tourney. They were a very good basketball team. Really liked watching them play.

Grubbs is a BIG boy. Very hard to guard in the post.

I agree. You have to love what the Firebirds are doing.

Are they loosing a player? Who will he be replacing?

I know that Travis plays baseball for Boone County. He would seem to add depth to that Bulldogs team. A good player. I wonder who is no longer on the team? They seemed to be pretty solid. I guess things change the closer we get to the live recruiting period.

As it worked out Jack Stewart did not join the Firebirds on that weekend.

The NKY Bulldogs may have one of the best big man triple tandems in Kentucky AAU basketball. Bobby Stauffer, Tyler Hodges and Jack Stewart are really good players. After the tournament I saw at Sportsville in No. KY this weekend, I have seen the Bulldogs in 4 tournaments now this summer. These 3 players work well together. I think Bobby Stauffers play speaks for itself. The kid is just a really hard working player that can score, rebound and defend. But, Tyler Hodges (Connor) and Jack Stewart (Highlands) are 2 players that are really developing and coming along. Hodges has seemed to get more aggressive with each tournament that passes that I've seen. He also has a nice jumper. Jack Stewart also appears to be getting stronger in the post and has a nice spin move. Both players also have the ability to rebound and block the basketball.

Keep working hard young men.

Treg Setty does not belong in this thread. Pervis from Clark County will make MAJOR waves this year. Timmy Knipp may end up with a supporting cast to showcase his abilities very well!

Please give your explanation as to why Treg does not belong in this particular thread. The kid could possibly be 6ft 9in or taller by the end of the 2009-2010 season. I can guarantee you he will also be a lot stronger.

St. John is a horse with great skills. South has hid in Tn. this spring but the word is he has taken his game up a notch. He is a young kid who is still growing. Good feet and great hands to go along with his 6'9" 250 plus body.

Tyson Williams from McCreary Central will be an outstanding Big

Man before he Graduates. Tyson started some for McCreary Central this past season. He is 6' 4" 240 8th Grader. Will probally be 6' 6" or 6' 7". Dosen't care to mix it up with the older kids. Tyson has a lot of skill, just needs experience.

Treg is more of a forward than a big man. He'd struggle against some of the better "big men" around the state like Behanan, Fant, Pittman, Euton, Gibbs, to name a few.

Treg who?

Euton is going to be a factor this season with no big guys in the 11 region, plus his outside game is as good as anyone. Herd he is going through a tough workout program this summer so we will see.
