May 1, 200917 yr Yes he is, BUT so is AA, Cro Cop, Big Nog, Heath Herring etc. Fedor is Fedor and Anderson could only run and hope for a lucky KO, because he is not taking Fedor down, he is not submitting him from the bottom, he is not going to outstrike him. Big Tim and Anderson are similar in that they dominated in a weak division for a long time because of their length and striking. Real competition will expose both. I wouldn't say AA is more talented than Sylvia. Sylvia has beat him 2/3 times. Cro Cop is a has been, Big Nog isn't as good as he used to be either and Heath Herring is nowhere near Anderson Silva's level of skill. Tim Sylvia never won as many fights as Anderson without losing. And Anderson moved up to LHW and destroyed James Irvin in about a minute. I don't think you are giving Anderson Silva enough credit.
May 1, 200917 yr Anderson is the best striker in the world. He would outstrike not just Fedor but pretty much anybody. I don't know who is the best striker in the world @ the moment but when CC was, he was knocking out big time fighters in the HW division and a K1 killer. What makes Anderson him that besides hype from Dana? 14 KO's total, some of them are CANS He has KO'd Rich, Leben, Irvin, and TKO'd Marquardt, 7 of the guys he has fought have losing records, and around half have less than 14 pro fights. I want to see the Griffin fight but Griffin has no KO power. I want to see him fight Overeem, CC, Manhouf, Mousasi, Hansen, Alvarez.........someone to prove to me that he is not just a product of UFC hype, beating a UFC poster boy(Rich), and a WEAK UFC MW division.
May 1, 200917 yr Anderson Silva also beat Dan Henderson, the former two class Pride Champ. He's not overrated.
May 1, 200917 yr Bad match up for Spider; Forrest is bigger and takes punches really well. His motor never stops. Can Spider get the fight to the ground and win there against Forrest? :idunno: Spider beat Dan Henderson on the ground, so I guess he can beat Forrest there; this is going to be an interesting fight. Silva walks around at 215 so the weight will not be a factor! This should be a great fight I have met both of them and they ate very nice guys. I can't bring myself to be for either one but I am stoked for the fight!

What have Mousasi, Manhoef, Hansen and Alvarez done to make you think a win over them would mean more the guys he has already beat? Wins over Rich x2, Marquardt, and Henderson proved more to me than beating any of those guys would ever prove.

Wins over Rich x2, Marquardt, and Henderson proved more to me than beating any of those guys would ever prove. Mousasi beat some nice MW's to win the DREAM tourney and dominated(TKO) a former K1 World GP finalist recently Hansen and Alvarez are strong chinned solid strikers who are descent in the ground game. Manhouf is a world class striker. Rich was the best fighter in a bad division, lets see how he does at LHW
May 1, 200917 yr Manhoef, Hansen and Alvarez are good fighters, but they have done nothing to make me think they could beat Anderson Silva. The only one who's close IMO, is Manhoef.

May 1, 200917 yr Then you didn't see the entire fight, because Rampage did not win hands down. Forrest scored big time points by kicking Rampage's legs off. The superkicks we'll call them. Even so, in a fight that close, the champion should get the benefit of the doubt, but I didn't even think it was that close, I thought Rampage won it.

Wins over Rich x2, Marquardt, and Henderson proved more to me than beating any of those guys would ever prove. Rich Franklin. UFC poster boy. He's 24-4. His only losses are to Lyoto Machida, Anderson Silva and Dan Henderson. A little about those guys... Machida (14-0) - Fighting Rashad Evans for the LHW title. Silva (24-4) - Current MW champion. In the discussion for best fighter in the world and probably the best striker in the world. Henderson (24-7) - Former 183 and 205 pound PRIDE champion. The only man to hold belts in two different weight classes at the same time in PRIDE. One of the top fighters in the world. The combined records of Franklin's losses...62-11. Overrated? Ridiculous. Do I sense a UFC bias? :thumb:
May 1, 200917 yr Rich is very good and very well rounded. I think he'll beat Wanderlei Silva, and I think Silva should move down to middleweight after he does. Also, wasn't the Hendo/Franklin fight very close? I didn't watch the entire fight.

Those two guys are pretty evenly matched.

May 1, 200917 yr Actually I'm just talking about his round kicks to Rampage's legs. Well either way Silva's going to kill Franklin. Destroy him.
