Upcoming UFC Fights

I don't see size playing a factor in this fight. But, if you want to say Forrest has a size advantage in this fight, then fine. I won't disagree.

So, that's one. Hardly enough to think Forrest will actually win this fight.

Forrest over Silva would be one of the biggest upsets since Serra/GSP.

I disagree that it would be anywhere close to being as big as Serra/GSP. Forrest is a former light heavyweight champion with wins over Shogun and Rampage. He is no slouch.

Very few things surprise me in MMA, but I would be surprised if Forrest beat Silva. He won against Shogun when Shogun had a bum knee and was in horrible shape in his first UFC fight, and I actually though Rampage got the better of him in their fight. Other than those two wins, which weren't that impressive, what has Forrest Griffin done?

How are wins against Shogun and Rampage not impressive?

I watched the Forrest/Rampage fight and thought it was close, but I thought Forrest did enough to win the fight.

And like someone else already said, Shogun was considered to be the best 205er in the world at the time Forrest beat him. Everyone fights injured...I don't like that excuse.

^ Agreed, he is a fight removed from owning the belt in the most competitive weight class in all of MMA. He is most certainly no slouch. That being said, I think Silva is decidedly better than Griffin, but I can't wait for the fight. Silva will have to kill him to beat him.

While Silva may be more talented, I won't be surprised at all if Forrest wins. Anderson hasn't looked spectacular in his last two outings.

Maybe but Shogun was a mere shell of his former self when they fought, and I would also like to point out, it was his first match in the Octagon. Bottom line is, you don't give Forrest the win over the champion when it could have gone either way, and from what I saw of it, Rampage won hands down.

Or, knock him uncouncious.

Very excited for that fight and while I think Silva wins, I'll never count Forrest Griffin out in a fight. Im excited to see what kind of gameplan him and Randy come up with for Silva.

I agree. I won't count him out, but I'll be surprised, at least a little, if he wins.

Seriously, what kind of game plan do you come up with against a guy like that?

The only way Forrest can win is to outpoint him in a decision. He's not finishing Silva early.

I think Sylva might give Fedor a run for his money though. Maybe that is just wishful thinking.

Fedor would beat him in 2minutes or less.

Sylva is the most overrated fighter in all of MMA.

Then you didn't see the entire fight, because Rampage did not win hands down. Forrest scored big time points by kicking Rampage's legs off.

I don't think he'd beat him in 2 minutes or less, and I don't think Silva is the most overrated fighter in MMA.

I think that title belongs to Kimbo . I know many probably don't consider him to be that great anymore, but anyone who even considers him to be decent is over rating him.

I never thought he was anything more than he was.

Fedor would do what he did to Big Tim or Zulu.

I disagree. Anderson Silva is much more talented than Sylvia.

Yes he is, BUT so is AA, Cro Cop, Big Nog, Heath Herring etc.

Fedor is Fedor and Anderson could only run and hope for a lucky KO, because he is not taking Fedor down, he is not submitting him from the bottom, he is not going to outstrike him.

Big Tim and Anderson are similar in that they dominated in a weak division for a long time because of their length and striking. Real competition will expose both.

Anderson is the best striker in the world. He would outstrike not just Fedor but pretty much anybody.
