Bad match up for Spider; Forrest is bigger and takes punches really well. His motor never stops. Can Spider get the fight to the ground and win there against Forrest? :idunno:

Spider beat Dan Henderson on the ground, so I guess he can beat Forrest there; this is going to be an interesting fight.

There are no bad match-ups for Anderson Silva at 205 and under. He can beat Forrest anywhere the fight ends up.

But, I'm buying...Forrest is a man. He'll come in with a plan and actually fight. He won't lay down like Leites and he'll be a huge upgrade from Silva's last three fights...Irvin, Cote and Leites. I'd expect to see Silva more focused.

I'll take Silva by KO in the second or third round...

I love the matchup though. The only thing that truly surprise me in this one would be a boring fight. :D

Forrest beat Rampage with the leg kicks, caught him completely of guard. Besides that he was beaten by Jardine and Tito. Neither of those two are even close to the caliber of fighet that the Spider is.

Griffin is one of my favorite fighters, but if Silva comes out and fights like he can, Forrest is in BIG trouble. That being said, Forrest will never stop coming at you no matter how long the fight, and you have to kill him to beat him. He won't be scared of Silva, and that will be something Spider isn't used to.

Henderson and Franklin weren't scared either. Silva prefers guys who want to fight, IMO.

Forrest reminds me a little of Randy Couture. He comes up with a game plan that gives him his best chance to win and then tries to do it. He isn't afraid to lose. I just think Silva is better.

Knocked out by Jardine...and Rashad. Neither of which are in the same league as Silva when it comes to striking. I like the matchup from an entertainment perspective, but I don't think Forrest will win, nor do I see anywhere in this fight where he has the advantage.

I also heard today that Anderson Silva is training Rich Franklin for his fight against Wanderlai Silva. Anderson Silva also said he wants to fight Fedor, and said weight wouldn't be an issue. Anderson Silva said he walks around in between fights at 215, and Fedor fights at 230. Said he'd come into the fight at 220. I couldn't imagine how much buys this match could get.

I'd like to see that. I don't think Silva would beat Fedor though.

I think Sylva might give Fedor a run for his money though. Maybe that is just wishful thinking.

Yeah, I forgot about Evans. However, Evans is the most underrated champ there has been in any sport for a while. The dude keeps whipping people and getting no respect.

I think his next one will be tough too though...

You don't see anywhere in this fight where Forrest has an advantage?

I think Forrest has a HUGE size advantage. I've heard Anderson Silva walks around at 220 or so, but I've heard Forrest gets up to 240. He's a huge man for a light heavyweight and I think that will show in this fight. I think Forrest stands a chance against him. I'm excited for this fight. Forrest won't be afraid like the last two Silva has fought, I know that.

Rashad is VERY good. I re-watched the fight between him and Forrest though and Forrest was working him on the feet IMO. If Forrest could get a rematch he would just need to do everything in his power to stop the take down. Which probably means no more high kicks, just powerful leg kicks.

Rashard is very underrated IMO as well

Very few things surprise me in MMA, but I would be surprised if Forrest beat Silva. He won against Shogun when Shogun had a bum knee and was in horrible shape in his first UFC fight, and I actually though Rampage got the better of him in their fight. Other than those two wins, which weren't that impressive, what has Forrest Griffin done?

^ Agreed on most parts, but at the time Shogun was considered to be possibly the best 205 in the world. Still a remarkable victory IMO. You're right though, that apart from those two fights, he hasn't done a whole lot.

I don't see size playing a factor in this fight. But, if you want to say Forrest has a size advantage in this fight, then fine. I won't disagree.

So, that's one. Hardly enough to think Forrest will actually win this fight.

Forrest over Silva would be one of the biggest upsets since Serra/GSP.

Rashard is very underrated IMO as well

I don't like him, but Rashard seems to get better every single fight. His stand-up is light years ahead of his TUF days.
