Track The Draft

Featured Replies

Anyone else think at first glance, the Bengals may have the best draft thus far?

I do. :thumb:

The Bengals did a great job this year.

Andre Smith, Rey Maualuga, Charles Johnson, Chase Coffmann, & the center from Arkansas.

We addressed a lot of needs & got a lot of talent. I love it.

I can't believe everyone is giddy about the Bengals draft. 1 winning season in 19 years. They will never be any good with Mike Brown in charge. Some of these guys may pan out but they will play their 4-5 years and then get out of town as fast as they can like Takeo and TJ. I really feel bad for people that continue to support the Bengals.

I dont know about the best, but likely in the top five. The Bears, Pats, Browns, and Eagles also have had good drafts.

The Eagles have only made two picks, I wouldn't rate them top 5.

NBCSports rated the Giants and Ravens as A+ day 1 drafts.

I don't think the Bengals are top 5 right now. I really did not like their first pick.

No.

As far as filling needs, I think the Bengals have a top five draft. Same with the Eagles. Two really good offensive players. Two picks or no, McCoy and Maclin is much better than what other teams with more picks have done.

I like the Giants pick of Andre Brown. I heard a lot of places had him rated as high as a 2nd rounder.

The thing I'm curious about that I keep reading on here is about how the Bengals are taking guys that at one time were projected to be Top 10 picks or high first round picks. Why did the guys slide and is that cause for concern?

I think Johnsons work ethic has been questioned. We all know why some consider Smith a questionable pick.

As for Maualuga (sp), I think they got a steal with him.

But is Maualuga more than a two-down linebacker?

Tough to tell right now, but getting him in the 2nd is worth the risk.

What dont you like about it? It was either him or Eugene Monroe and I think Smiths run blocking ability is why they decided to go with him. Dude is huge and can reallly move people around and is still athletic enough to pass protect for Carson. He's not a bad person, he got some bad advice from an agent who he is no longer with. He dominated in the best conference in CFB against some of the top defenses in the nation. Won the outland trophy this year. He was the right pick for them at that spot.

I just don't like a team with a history of character issues taking one of the most questionable players regarding character in the draft. It might work out, as he is very talented, I just would have went a different way. I'm not an NFL GM though, and there are many reasons for that .

Could you let us all know some of the things that puts character issues and Smith in the same sentence?

Can someone PM all of the reasons why people keep saying Smith has character/advising issues.
