Good to hear from you Jericho51. It's about time to get serious about football. I like the sounds of the linemen's attitude too. I've heard they have put up some new records in the weight room. They will be a big key to the team's success. I hope to get to watch them in practice soon - maybe I'll see you there.

I don't know about that Ram, maybe some people but I (you as well) have been saying all along how good I believe this Ashland team will be.

As for Raceland vs. Ashland, I agree.............it could possibly get real ugly, the only thing I will promise about Raceland in that one is that we will show up and the Raceland kids will not quit and will play hard for 4qtrs.

If we stay within 3 scores of you I'll be happy. We will be scrappy and we will play hard for 4 quarters but that doesn't always equate to a win on the scoreboard.

I truly beleave playing the tougher teams gives the players a look at what it takes to play at the next level,I hope we NEVER leave 5A if at all possible.:thumb:

Sandbaggers is right. For Raceland to have a chance this year, we are going to have to tie sandbags to Carter's and Alber's waist, and maybe tie some to Hunter's arm as well. We will need several sandbags, I would say five at least, that should level the playing field.

You can't replace senior leadership, that is good for a touchdown or two.

 

I agree with your 5A comment, I think 5A puts Ashland in a good, competitive league. I know it's a tough class, but I thank that is a good level for Ashland. And like you said, it prepares the players for college football, and shows them what level of competition to expect at that level.

I agree with you, a team/player imo will get better by playing better opposition. With Ashland's talent + tradition I wouldn't rule the out of any game.

I've been hearing good things about this group of linemen and how they've worked in the weight room. I look forward to seeing them in pads.
