Based on my assessment of both teams last year and with what Johnson Central has coming back, I'd have thought that Johnson Central would be big, big favorites over Paul Blazer this year (and they still do play one another in the regular season, correct?). But you are closer to those two teams, so I'll have to defer to your knowledge.

I don't know if they will go 10-0 in the regular season or not, but as of right now, I would give Ashland the advantage over Johnson Central this year. Ashland should be a very strong team this year, they graduate some quality linemen, but return an entire, and strong, back field, they also return some quality receivers. If Ashland fills the spots on the OL/DL, they will be very strong and the favorite to win their district.

Johnson Central and Ashland should be the strongest two in their District. I agree with Ram in his assessment of the returning Ashland Tomcat team. Now, saying that, I will give the edge to Ashland in May. How the two teams mature and blend between now and the regular season will be the tell tale sign.

Come on Graybeard, it's a two way street. The Ashland fans are playing the "we are the underdog" card as well.:lol:

 

You know the expectations are high on Blazer Blvd. This Ashland team should be one of the best teams that Ashland has had in recent years. They return the best backs since Beech was there. The one two punch of Carter and Alber are going to be a very strong combination. DeMartino is one of the best receivers that Ashland has had in a while. On a side note: I hope he is recovering well from his injury.

 

Sam Hunter has a chance to break every record, at Ashland, for QB's. He is very capable.

 

The same, above players, are very strong on the defensive side of the ball as well.

 

I know they need to rebuild the OL/DL, and as you know, that is a very important part of the great game of football. I know they have some capable bodies to do that with. If they can build a solid OL/DL, we both know that Ashland is going to be very strong.
