April 7, 200917 yr Tackle Tank Johnson's agent said Tuesday he has reached a deal with the Bengals that gives them more depth along the defensive line and very well may take them out of the derby for a defensive tackle at No. 6. LINK
April 7, 200917 yr Tank Johnson? This is the same Tank Johnson whose home was raided for drugs & guns a few years back right? This is also the same Tank Johnson who is a pretty good football player. Good move, I guess.
April 7, 200917 yr If this means the Bengals are going to take an offensive lineman with the 1st pick, then, I guess that alone is worth it!
April 8, 200917 yr Did they not learn from Chris Henry, A.J. Nicholson , Odell Thurman and more. Its no wonder the bengals continue to stink.

April 8, 200917 yr I think that is what it means. I think it is wishful thinking, but I hope you're right. I just hope we don't draft Crabtree or Beanie Wells. I'd like to reiterate that I hope the Bengals don't draft a WR or a RB in the 1st round. PLEASE! (I have a horrible feeling that they're going to take Crabtree...)
April 8, 200917 yr I've never been a big Tank fan but he can play. Marvin is to the point that he has to make some moves to save his job I think. If he stays out of trouble then this sets them up to really do well in the draft. I think the go OT 1st round and Center 2nd round. I would like to see them move Chad and get a pass rusher. There are a lot of good WR's to be had in the draft this year. I also think they could get a really strong LBer to solidify that position for a long time if they choose to take one of them in the 2nd.
April 8, 200917 yr I don't see how you wouldn't like the move football wise. After watching the HBO training camp series with the Boys last year, he seems to have that nasty attitude the Bengals need on the DL.

I don't think it's the football anybody worries about...it's the wrap sheet off the field.

We already have Geathers & Odom signed to pretty big contracts. With Tank Johnson, I think the D-line is set. I expect Pat Sims to start at the other DT.

I'm really uneasy about that first pick too. This moves takes out Raji, which I really didn't see as a first round need. It really opens the door for an OT, but mock drafts are saying they take Smith. You really have no clue what you're going to get with Smith, and do you want to blow top 10 money on a guy that has had so many issues lately? Now that leaves Crabtree and Wells/Moreno. :ohbrother:

I think it was a good move for the Bengals when you look at it like that. I think the Bengals either go OT or trade back which might not be a bad move if they aren't sold on the OT's. I think they need to upgrade their pass rush myself. They have their guy in the middle now with Tank. I wonder how much temptation they have to take Lariniatus if they trade back? If they take Beany Wells that early then I will be officially done with them on the spot! That would be an awful pick IMO! Moreno will be the 1st back gone I think.
