April 6, 200917 yr I was really glad to see Jamey Johnson win song of the year with "In Color." Outstanding song. The songwriter on that song is married to a Winchester, Ky girl. He also wrote Trace Adkins song "You're gonna miss this"
April 6, 200917 yr Based on the award she won for selling more albums than any artist in all of music last year someone must give a crap, right? My 19 year old daughter would argue the same about George Strait. Think any girls her age care about a troubador? Who says an artist has to appeal to everyone? My daughter is 19 and she loves George Strait.

April 6, 200917 yr It was nice to see Carrie Underwood break the male-entertainer of the year streak. It's apparently been a while since a woman's even been nominated, so that made her win even more exciting!! Plus, she always seems so humble and genuine. That had me pulling for her too. Two things... #1 - Carrie Underwood is unbelievably attractive. I could watch her all day long. #2 - I had my picture taken with her this weekend and it was great....... ........of course it was at Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum in New York City, but you can't tell from the photo!

I just am old school traditional country.....imo it doesn't get any better than Haggard, Jones, Waylon, Conway, D. Singletary, A. Jackson, G. Straight and ones like that.

Younger women is anyone under 35 in my book. They sure was a lot of young ones. Don't know there ages just guessing by the way they were dressed. That's the first time I ever saw a halter top, under garment above her denim mini skirt and cowboy boots. :ohbrother: My mother would have killed me for bringing something home dressed like that.
April 7, 200917 yr :thumb:I certainly agree, if it weren't for the one song "some gave all" from here dad I would say the same about him, imo that is a great song and the only song that he ever had. That's the only song I ever liked by him too. Saw him at Ritter Park about 2 weeks before Achey Breaky came out. My best friend was his cousin and made me go. I left there telling him what a dork his cousin was....who would have thunk it!
April 7, 200917 yr I enjoy Taylor Swift's music, and think it's fun. But her voice is not very good at all and she isn't that cute. So sometimes it IS kind of laughable how idolized she is. Carrie Underwood on the other hand is the TOTAL package. I think she has made it on all looks. I don't think she sings very well at all! My lil sis has met her about 5 times now from shoes around here before she made it big. She lives down the road from an old high school friend around Nashville. She seems to be really humble and trying to stay on the right path because she knows so many girls look up to her. That's refreshing!

That's refreshing! This is nice to hear. I wish more celebrity figures realized the impression they leave on our kids. She may not be that great of a singer, but I'd rather my daughter act like her instead of Brittney Spears
