April 2, 200917 yr WHAT!!! You usually make sense in your posts but you're way off on this one. I'm glad your definition of rape isn't what's used for the legal definition. Look it up: Rape: unlawful sexual activity and usually sexual intercourse carried out forcibly or under threat of injury against the will usually of a female or with a person who is beneath a certain age or incapable of valid consent. It's not always about physical force. She is a mother who gave her son's friends alcohol and had sex with at least one of them. I know he was a 15 yr old boy and apparently the guys on here think he was loving every minute of it. Maybe he was but he was under the legal age of consent. How young would the boy have to be before the adult is seen as a sexual predator? Yes, it's too bad for the son. She should have considered the consequences before she jumped into bed with a 15 yr old boy. That is not how it is defined under KRS. 3rd degree rape is consensual intercourse by a person 21 or older with a person under age 16.

Sure he got what he paid for and that was an education. I wish all the best to the young man. Hopefully he will go on and graduate college and then is mom will be able to attend.

In all seriousness, it's laughable to think the money she paid should be refunded to her if she can't go. It's CovCath's fault she has a thing for teenage boys. She made the decision and needs to accept responsibility for what she did. She has been told she can't come and she needs to understand it's her actions that are the reason for this decision and let it be. She's brought enough to this class as far as controversy and turmoil, let them enjoy their graduation day. As someone said, hopefully Alex will go on to graduate from college and she can attend that one.

If you sat on my side of the river in church every week over the last 2 plus years and watch her come and go like nothing ever happened and if you knew "all" the circumstances of the situation and events that led up to the act, I think you would be a little less sympathetic. Just my thought. This is for those who understand Catholic dogma better than I, but if the Diocese is a driving force in keeping her from the graduation, is it also denying her from communion? You've seen her at church, and for Catholics, I believe that it is a bigger deal for her to take communion than be present at the graduation.

I'm not a big fan of the Bishop, but I think they made the right choice on this one. You have to feel bad for the son, he is the one being punished for a poor decision made by his mother.

Every day I to listen to 700 WLW be a puppet to the Dinkels and to the "BullDog" Deters. It's a shame that they have done this. I feel sorry for Alex with everything he has had to go through. And now he has to go through this. This isn't the Schools fault or the Church's fault. There is only one person to blame. Make it stop!!!
