March 25, 200917 yr They all deny until they accept. Pitino did the same thing. They all say "I am planning on staying right here." Until they have a new 'deal' in place, why jeopardize your current job? If I were looking for another job, I would not tell my employer until I had a deal in place and was about ready to leave. Billy D told UF he wasn't going anywhere, ... then accepted the Magic job, .. then told the Magic he wasn't coming and told UF he was staying put. It happens. :thumb: Smart business.
March 25, 200917 yr :thumb: Smart business. Absolutely. If I tell my boss 'I am thinking about finding another job outside of the company', ... he will start looking for my replacement. If my boss makes it public that he is looking to replace me, ... how comfortable will I feel in being on that job? On both sides, it is just much smarter to be discreet. :thumb:
March 25, 200917 yr I am sure that Tubby will do whatever he believes is right for him and his family. I don't think that I or anyone esle are qualified to judge him and I wish him the best whether it be remaining in Minnesota or wherever he may decide to go. One thing for certain is that OTS will be a big sucsess and run a clean, all class and winning program wherever he is. That has always been the case and imo always will. Good things happen to good people and OTS = "good people".

I agree, I just wanted to point out that just because he's "happy at Minnesota" doesn't mean he won't be coaching at Arizona or Virginia next year.
March 25, 200917 yr I agree, I just wanted to point out that just because he's "happy at Minnesota" doesn't mean he won't be coaching at Arizona or Virginia next year. That is true. I think he stays in Minnesota. But you have to admit, that the weather is bound to be better in AZ or VA.
March 26, 200917 yr I wish Tubby was still at UK. I'm sure many Kentucky fans do. I love Tubby and his coaching style, and I have grown to love Minnesota basketball. I love watching his teams and I always have. I will support him 100% no matter where he is. He it truly a good coach, and an even better man. Keep the wins coming Tubby, those people in Minnesota will love you far more than the UK faithful ever could.

March 26, 200917 yr I wish Tubby was still at UK. I'll bet a lot of people do right now, maybe some of them even the Tubby bashers that would never admit it.

March 26, 200917 yr Not this one:thumb: Talk about unrealistic fans, but bailing out on someone after two seasons??? After 2 sub par seasons in his final 2, a lot of fans bailed on Tubby as well and the SEC was playing at a MUCH higher level than they are now. Not 1 SEC team left in postseason play this year. However, like I said before, I and not a big fan of BCG, but a big part of me would like for him to stay and get at least 1 more season. I sort of hope that they can work something out, get him to sign the contract and stick around for 1 more year. I truly believe that with the players coming in and those probably coming back, UK should be much improved next season.
March 26, 200917 yr I wish Tubby was still at UK. It was time for him to go. He had become stale at UK. He did not have the same fire he had when he first came to UK, and the program was slipping. The move to UM revitalized him and he is coaching with passion again. Him leaving was best for all involved.

He knew it was time to move on and did so.
