There have been many, many more positive comments about Elliott Co (even among the neutrals) than negative ones. They play very hard and take excellent advantage of their strenghts which imho are quickness and 3 point shooting.

On the other hand, their fans are super sensitive and any remark other than abject praise is taken as criticism that must be defended to the hilt.

Frankly, in the words of Cawood Ledford (if he were alive) ....they won't be asking for the films of last night's game in Springfield. Shelby Valley fumbled numerous balls out of bounds even when not under pressure and their best player could not finish his drives to save his life. Elliott was not a lot better and by the admission of their fans it was not one of their beter games.

Dave Cantrell needs to turn his attention to something that does not require him to do evaluation of basketball teams.

Justice has a great crossover dribble and is very, cat quick. He needs some work before he becomes a high major prospects. He is definately one to watch as he has college playmaking skills, but his shots off the dribble were not just off the mark, they were well off the mark.

Congrats to EC!!! Elisha Justice is the most fun to watch of anybody I have seen in a long time....his dribbling is excellent...he has an awesome shot...and can defend like no other!!!! Just an all around player...can do it all...and is also a great kid..

Congrats to SV for a great season, and making it this far!!! Nothing to hang your heads about...All 'A' Champs..and awesome record.

Coach Booher, you do an excellent job...maybe he should apply for Ky's coach....

SV has nothing to hang their heads over! An excellent season, and next year is still promising! Even with an off shooting night for him, Justice was indeed impressive!

Guys,

Just now getting back to my computer and just want to congratulate SV on giving us a great run this season and a State Championship and a good run in the state tournament. I did not read through all the post but hats off to Elliot Countys kids for playing hard and picking up a big win.

I thought that Justice's acting job earned that one. Can't say it was truly intentional, but the kid did a great job of selling it in front of the official.

You nailed it on the head and if you talk to Elisha he will confirm it. I thought it was one of the headiest plays I've ever seen. Justice saw the game slipping away and he single handedly made a 5 point play to turn a 10 point game into a 3 point game. If Shelby had gone on to win, they would have been talking about that play for years. Elisha ran into an opportunity, made a quick decision to sell it, and the ref bought it. I also agree that these two were the two best point guards in the tournament and watching them go head to head was a lot of fun.

Near as I can tell, its Ethan 2 Elisha 1 for their career.

Both of them have a bright future at the next level:thumb:
