With Phares out I would not consider a Lex. Cath. win an upset. The Knights are playing great ball right now. Taylor Botkin has played great in the Region Tournament. I will take the Knights 73 - 59.

LC just needs to make sure they do not letup mentally with the very unfortunate injury to a great player. You can bet that Scott will play with that "win it for Richie" intensity. I continue to pick LC.

The loss of Phares is obviously a big deal, but even without him Scott County has more talent than pretty much everyone else in the state and without him next year they are likely to be number one or two preseason depending on how the season finishes. In my opinion Scott County is still the favorite to win this one and I'll stick with my win by 8 prediction.

Yes it is, that's why I said pretty much everyone else. I didn't say that they had more talent than everyone without him, but if they are behind anyone it's not very far behind. Jackson, Euton, Guyn, and Manning( and probably Ivey now). You can't tell me that there's several teams with starting lineups better than that.

Out of your starting five there are two all state players. Holmes matches up very well with Scott County. What people dont realize is this Scott County team now runs around Chad Jackson.A announcer said it best " By the end of his senior year we could be looking at a player ranked as one of the top 25 players in America". Yes Scott will obviously miss Richie. However if Chad can stay out of foul trouble, Scott County is still a very tough out. Tamron and Isiah have the chance to step up and show what they have got.

Well said.

Losing Phares is a tough blow. Scott County will have to handle the ball better than they did against Lafayette to win. Euton will have to make layups on the back end of the press and at the foul line to get 25 and 15.

 

The loss of Phares provides a great opportunity for Lex Cath to repeat.

I hope that everyone begins to see that the Jackson kid for Scott Co. should be the one coming to UK.

When Scott Co. played Holmes Guyn was the best player on the floor IMO. I think he has the ability to lead this team past Lex Cath. Ill take Scott County by 3.

Debatable...Riley filled it up that day as well. IMO Pittman was the best player on the floor that day as he dominated both Phares and Euton and his double double was the difference in the game. Even Billy Hicks described him as a "monster." Guyn's numbers just helped keep the game respectable.

 

That's for another thread though....sorry for getting off topic.

 

As for tonight and a potential run at Rupp, Guyn is now the key player for SC. I've always been most impressed with him and felt he was their best all around player. He can fill it up from anywhere on the floor and his on the ball defense is outstanding. SC will need him to step up in a big way tonight because I think Sanford is good enough to shut down Jackson and I see that being a difficult match up for SC. Jackson seems to lack intensity at times when I've seen him.
