I honestly think you would see two of the districts be completely made up of NKY teams before you see the Old 38th back. I know their would have to be some of the traditional 10th region teams moved out. But I think this is a very good posibility.

I personally wouldn't like to see the "old" district with Pendelton, Bracken, Augusta and Deming put back together.

Because it means that some of the best teams in the region won't make it to the Regional Tournament. It would mean realigning the districts to creating a tough district (like that of the 37th) and then leaving an extremely weak district like the one you are suggesting. By doing this you would be substituting a strong team in the regional tournament with a weak one and I don't agree with that at all. It would be quite possible, by doing this, that the #4 team in the stronger district, could be very well stronger than the #1 in the district you are proposing and that wouldn't be fair, IMO.

I'm just talking about if you were going to do it now with the current teams but yet again this is my opinion on the matter. I mean no disrespect whatsoever.

I miss the "old" 38th district as well. Every year was a toss up and a battle, usually involving all 4 schools. They would NEVER leapfrog ( in the geographical sense) Mason in with NKY schools.

I think that if the city schools Paris/Bourbon,Augusta/Bracken merged like Mason and Maysville then they may have a powerhouse as well. I remember Maysville High.

This one is not happening any time soon. Just because you merge a school does not mean you will get the athletic results you were looking for.:sssh:

 

I remember Maysville High well, for a small school they were the top dogs in basketball.

I remember the ol' days and the rivalries we had in the old 38th...more so with Deming and Bracken County, they would rank in the 10th region rivalries with Maysville-Mason County, Mason County-Fleming County, classic basketball.

Word on the street is Fleming County will be going back to to the 10th for 2010-2011 season.
