March 14, 200917 yr Absolutely, that is true. It takes a staff, discipline, etc. CoachBuckett said they had some good young talent and things were ready to turn. I simply showed that the recruiting for FSU has consistently been in the top 10, meaning the talent is there to do much better than 7-6 in one of the weakest BCS conferences. So, why now? What is different? Why will FSU suddenly return to glory with this young talent when they haven't been able to do it with good talent over the past several year? I'm not buying it. The problem has been the offense and development of the QB position. Bowden made some changes and it is starting to pay off. I am not saying they didn't have talent in the past. But Bowden allowed his son to interfere with developement of some of those kids. Now with Fisher in place we are seeing the QB position get better.
March 14, 200917 yr Wide Right, the field goals they have missed has killed them like no other team in history.

Now that sounds more reasonable...:thumb: Although, I still don't expect them to return to their 1990's level.
March 15, 200917 yr Author Now that sounds more reasonable...:thumb: Although, I still don't expect them to return to their 1990's level. Well that level is something that many teams haven't matched, so I don't expect that either. That echelon is reserved for the USCs of the world. Maybe only USC.

March 15, 200917 yr Wide Right, the field goals they have missed has killed them like no other team in history. So I guess that gives Bama an extra win from the 2007 season???
March 19, 200917 yr Well that level is something that many teams haven't matched, so I don't expect that either. That echelon is reserved for the USCs of the world. Maybe only USC. Let me clarify...I don't think they'll ever return to glory with Bowden at the helm. With their tradition and recruiting base, the right guy there could absolutely succeed.
April 8, 200917 yr We don't have to worry about them forfeiting a win to us since we beat them in the Music City Bowl. GO CATS
April 11, 200917 yr As an FSU fan, I am ready to see Bowden go. Those who have followed FSU for a while knows that FSU's decline began with the departure of Mark Richt. QB play has been awful since Richt left, and Bowden has been shown to be a good head coach with excellent assistants around him until he brought in his son Jeff as the OC. Now that Jeff is gone and Jimbo is running the show, things still look a little sketchy. I will say that things were looking up until our entire WR corps for next year got kicked out of school or off of the team. If we can get anything that resembles a running game, then we shall see where we stand. Our O-line is very young and they have a year of experience under their belts and are mostly sophomores and juniors I believe. Our defense will always be fast and undisciplined. We have had good recruiting classes, yes, but we have still lost out on the top notch talent to Florida and Miami and that is why FSU fans will say the talent isn't what it used to be.
