Cowboys release Terrell Owens

Featured Replies

Apparently profootballtalk thinks the Giants and Skins will vie for TO's services. That is just their opinion though.

I can't believe they actually released him though.

Also, Chris Canty reportedly stated that he would love for TO to become a Giant now.

How much have the Redskins offered?

At least $50 million...:D

I just don't understand how these top of the line players walk. Can you not trade these guys and get a pick? Am I missing something? Money I know but people will pay it. This will be interesting to see if it effects where Crabtree could go.

Seems like they could have gotten a 4th, maybe a 5th for him.

And more importantly not taking the 9 million dollar cap hit

I think you still take a hit if you trade though...

Really? I thoought the other team took the contract

I'm not sure specifically how it works, but I'm pretty sure Dallas still takes some kind of a hit if they trade him. It doesn't matter now though...

T.O. may not be the only problem in Dallas, but he was a big problem, and it just goes to show you that even the most talented players can outweigh their worth on the field by being complete morons behind the scenes.

They'll take a hit on talent, but I really think this is a step in the right direction for Dallas.

I don't know if they have or will but the Redskins are one team that imo may take a chance on this very talented (although that is declining) /ego maniac WR that destroys every team he has been on :D. My reason for saying that the Redskns may be a possibility is for the "revenge" factor within their divsion for T.O., the Redskins main rivals are the Cowboys and Eagles. T.O. just may actually play hard against them for a revenge on both former teams. That would be 4 games a year that he may actually want to play football. Of course, Al Davis and the Raiders are always a possibility, they like to p/u controversial trash and love the drama.

I still can't hardly believe that Jerry Jones swallowed some of his pompass pride and cut T.O., this may actually give the Cowboys a chance to do something going into the playoffs. With T.O. there they imo had no chance, Dallas losing in a playoff was a lock.

I am sure that someone will take a chance but really can't see why, this idiot has broken every locker room/team chemistry that he has been at apart and caused nothing but drama, controversy and trouble. Maybe he could get a job on a daytime soap opera, with his baggage ans drama he would be a good fit.

Just read some Giants blogs...they are NOT interested.

If I'm Denver, Minnesota or the Bengals, I'm pushing HARD for TO right now.

I'd love to see Denver get them because then they might have one of the most potent passing offenses I've seen!

I respect your opinion but have to ask why would take a chance on him if you were Denver, Minnesota or Cincy?

Denver has a decent team with a shot at winning and with T.O. coming in imo he would do nothing but tear them apart like he has everywhere. Basically the same for Minnesota, imo the Vikings need to get a solid QB and as any other team stay away from all the trouble and baggage the guy brings.

Now for the Bengals....Why not, they are so terrible they don't have alot to lose and Mr. Brown is just about idiot enough to go for him. At least if with the Bengals he may have reason to want to commit suicide and people might actually believe him. .

T.O. in Cincy.......get your popcorn ready, the traveling comedy act would really get going!!:popcorn:

:thumb: They were just talking about that on ESPN's First Take program, a Giant spokesman had made a statement that they were in no way intersted in pursuing T.O.. Why would they be? The Giants imo are a good football team that has a shot at winning and going into the playoffs. Should the Giants bring n T.O. (terribly overrated:D) and those chances go down, he is much more trouble than he is worth. JMO

Like Michael Smith said, T.O. has the physical gifts to be one of the best receivers to ever play. The problem is, he is a poison in the locker room, the three teams he has played on have never really succeeded-the Eagles got to the Superbowl, but T.O. was hurt-and a lot of it has to do with the distractions Terrell Owens brings.

I saw this last night. Suprising.
