Sorry! Getting back to Knox. I think a lot of Knox Centrals success will depend on the QB development. Knox has some good Lineman coming back along with some good Young Running Backs. They will be able to run the ball. Throwing it may be a problem.

 

I agree. However, Jr.-to-be Travis Canady was moved to WR/DB last season and had an outstanding Soph season. He was the back up QB his freshman year and actually started a few late season games when Corey was injured. He was too good a player to sit the bench during Corey Smiths Senior season, hence the move. If Barger doesn't step up, we could see Canady return to his old position.

Bell Co will be just as good in 09 as they were in 08. Their defense may be even better they have 7 returning starters.

 

I think Merrick will be the hardest player in the district to replace. He helped the defense a whole lot kicking it out of the endzone everytime.

Two nice adds for the panthers are Turpin and yes another Canady that runs like a deer and strong as a horse

Mills has got KC in a spot were they will be good every year. They are much like Bell in that if they have got linemen and running backs they will be hard to beat. From what I am reading here that will be their strength this year.

Who is Turpin?

KC graduated as fine a group of seniors as has been seen here in quite some time, a rare combination of heart and athleticism along with good numbers. However, there were a good number of underclassmen playing well last season as well as a number of good kids biding their time behind those seniors. I worry a bit about replacing Smith at QB, but I believe Mills has brought this program to the level of having quality new players to plug in each season. Watch for kids like Travis Canady, Chad Merida, Cody Diamond, Justin King, Tyler Bailey and others to step into the spotlight. (I hate to mention names because I know there are a bunch I'm leaving out). The cupboard is far from bare.

Canady will be a solid player, but look for Merida to be a horse this season at TB. I think he was hurt last season is that correct?
