St. Henry is one of the best coaching situations to be in in N. Ky. So don't base your opinion of Faust on any perception that St. Henry is some small school at a disadvantage talent wise. If anything, the opposite is true. He should win at that school every year. In fact, if St. Henry is ever not in the top 10 in N. Ky., there is a problem. That being said, I think he is a good coach. I just don't think he is some kind of coaching genius like others seem to believe.

I understand the dilution of talent argument but I will tell you that the fact that St. Henry doesn't have football has meant that they have lost many potential athletes. There are many feeder school students that go to CCH and even Dixie because of no football program at St. Henry.

That is true. Some athletes who want to play football do go to other schools. I guess the question there is are there any current basketball players at CCH, Holy Cross, Dixie or elsewhere that attended St. Henry feeders and live in St. Henry's district? I don't know of anyone playing at the varsity level. If there aren't any, then Faust didn't lose anyone.

Very true. IHM, St. Paul, and St. Henry grade schools send a handful of kids that are very good athletes to CovCath every year. Also the feeder programs for St. Henry are mostly smaller schools with the exception of IHM which keeps growing. St. Henry is still an "A" school. Most classes graduate under 130 students. But I can agree, they get a nice amount of talent for how small they are.

First of all Blake Trimpe is from St. Paul which is a SHDHS feeder but he was going to HC regardless so I wouldn't include him.

 

The interesting thing about the athletes that go to CCH specifically for football is that there are so few spots available in basketball that I'm sure CCH intramurals best players could compete at the high school varsity level.
