I'll admit I don't attend many of the boys games, but I was impressed last night with the HHS fan support. The student section was crowded and loud. I even ran into several parents of former students. Unfortunately in the second half there wasn't much to cheer about. NCC played great and took the game over in the second half. I thought HHS really lacked floor leadership. I kept waiting for someone to step up, but it never happened.

I wasn't there...but I'll bet the senior players on NCC, (4 of them?) were determined to not be beat on their floor, in their last game at home! The Studs have ALWAYS been tough to beat up on the hill!! And speaking of student support...or lack there of.....did NCC have a "pep rally" for the team. Or do these things only exist in the movies now? I know HHS no longer has them.

I don't believe they had a pep rally. I know I gave my son one though. That is exactly what I told him, " this is the last time you step on your home court, make it a good one." He didn't let me down.

I see the Breds get a chance to avenge their loss to Dixie, then with any luck they get to tangle with the dawgs.

:taz: we will be waiting. :thumb:

By the way I set the over-under on how many times HHS' student section would mention football at 6... They went over with 8.

That's funny. They did the same thing the last time NCC beat them. I guess if NCC ever played Highlands in football, NCC could chant " let's play basketball.":dancingpa

Didnt the Birds sweep NCC last year in Basketball? They are all juniors, next year there will be some payback rest assured.

Taking nothing away from the big win, the Breds earned it with lights out shooting. Nice to see Meyer get hot and have a nice game.

NewCath has a pretty good crew coming back with Pangallo, Meyers, and Geisler. It'll be interesting to see if anyone can step up and take over for the older Geisler.

The Hightchew (SP?) boy is going to be a great predecessor to Grant as well after next year. His game reminds me somewhat of Grant's but he is bigger. NCC is in good shape for the next few years I think.

That's just tooooo funny!!!!!

I was shocked Highlands defense allowed this lopsided NCC victory!

They got into the 70's two other times:

74-46 over Villa

77-47 over Bellevue

... And now... Highlands ... Go figure. :idunno:

Thats not a group you want to be in if your the birds.
