I'm just hopeing Holmes finishes at 36-2 and not 35-3 again.

What really helped SK make a game of this tonight was their outside shooting. Again, they made six 3's to Holmes' two. Those 12 points ended up being a big difference in the final outcome.

I just watched SK on Tuesday and I hope this is a wake up call for Holmes, if not they may not have many games left in them. SK was less than impressive. Understand about the 3's, but still...work on your perimeter defense because everytime a team has stayed close one of the "reasons" is that they shot lights out from outside.

I don't care how many 3s SK made. They are too small and not quick enough to guard Holmes.

55 against SK is worrisome.

SK played a very good game, they had more than a few chances down the stretch but just couldn't get over the hump. I thought when Holmes went up by 10 that it was going to get ugly but SK came out of the half and cut it to five and it stayed in that range for the rest of the game. I thought Pittman would be huge tonight but other than a period of scoring six straight in the 3rd quarter he was back on the bench until about 4 minutes left in the game. Riley was very good driving to the hoop and also hit a big three late in the fourth. After seeing Holmes against BC and SK I wouldn't be the house on a title, they pass the looks test but in both games they seem to go through the motions and then decide to get down to business. No way they can win seven straight in the post season unless they decide to bring it for the full 32 minutes. I honestly hope they bring the title to the 9th but I honestly don't think they will.

Eta Rho. Can you explain how Holmes plays so many games so low scoring? To me it looks like Holmes has the type of team to force teams to play faster than they would like. But it seems with most teams from Northern Ky they, I assume play slow wih them. Why is this?

One would think so, but Holmes' offense isn't much more than isolation. I thought Holmes would crush SK on the boards, and while they most likely won that battle, it wasn't as decisive as I would have imagined.

All due respect to SK, they are no where close to Holmes level of play. An 8 point margin....are you serious?

Just my personal opinion, but I don't think many want to run with Holmes, at times they look a bit uncomfortable having to grind it out in the half court.

If they don't wake up, they will fall short of any of the goals they've set. They can only afford to lose one game at this point.

I just think that with the athletes Holmes has they could press some and cause the tempo to be much faster than what they are currently doing. Thats just a thought. I am not watching their games, so just an outsider's view.

I thought SK did a decent job against the press, when the game was on the line they made a few key turnovers but it was in the halfcourt, and once on an OOB's play under their own hoop. It was apparent to me that Holmes tightened their defense in the 4th, and I also thought they did the same in the 4th vs Boone but they need to bring that intensity for a full four quarters.
