If SK plays like they did tonight they will make the 8th region tournament. They do have to play W'Town on their home court, but I don't think SK has ever lost to the Demons.

WOW . . . I didn't remember ever hearing anything about them as being contenders for the state championship. I would have thought this would have been a blowout!:confused:

I don't think there is any way Simon will not make it to the Region...play like they did tonight, I would like their chances against any of the 8th Region teams...Anderson County seems to be the class of the region but Simon Kenton proved tonight they can play with the best...keep those fires burning, I think you may be a factor the couple of weeks!

 

As for Holmes, I think they will be fine...I know they are the most athletic team I have seen this year...Good luck to both teams in the post season!

People can't deny though that when a team hits 4 more 3 pointers than you do, it's going to make a game close.

 

That is no excuse for only beating a 7-16 team by 8 points. Is the 3 point line not there when Holmes has the ball? Is it shorter for Simon Kenton?

When a team plays a zone the whole game, that quickness isn't as much of a factor.

True, but if a team plays zone against Holmes, especially one as small as SK, they should dominate the offensive boards. Do you happen to know the rebounding statistics?

Not when the whole team is playing out on the perimeter. Unless you were at the game it's tough to comment about how the game went by just looking at the final score, which a lot of you are doing.. Holmes did do well on the offensive glass but couldn't finish on their second and third attempts. At one point, JJ and Arnold missed 4 straight tip in attempts on one possession, and Barnes finally came down with the rebound.

 

Not sure about the rebounding stats but I'd say Holmes won the battle. I don't remember SK getting too many second chances on the offensive end.

 

BTW, SK has historically played Holmes tough. See past scores. Also, SK played with a lot of emotion last night in front of a packed house on their senior night.

Congrats, to Holmes on another 27-2 season. When I look back at the whole regular season, I can't believe they finshed again with only two losses. The schedule this year was twice as tuff. Who thought after the BS lost, Holmes would finish 27-2. I know I didn't. I think what Holmes has accomplished in the regular season is being over-looked because of the low scores. A win is a win [flat out]. Holmes has played 29 games and had a chance to win all 29. They have been in the game or winning going in to the 4th quarter of every game this year. Henley will have the Dawgs ready!

IMO if I was a Holmes fan I would be worried. They play HC in districts this Tuesday and HC is a tough team to play right now. Last time these two teams faced eachother HC shot the ball terribly. If HC continues to shoot the ball like they are right now, they have a very good chance of beating Holmes.

I am a Bulldog Fan!!! Born and presently living in Covington. I am a Holmes Alumni. My point of veiw is somewhat bias because of these things. For some ungodly reason the Bulldogs will not destroy any team, plays to the ability of the opposing team. Whether it is great against Scott County, Bryan Station, etc... or terrible ball playing when it comes to the teams who are ave. team or a team they should blow out. Don't know what the problem is, whether it is the head coach slowing the ball down the way he does(never used to be Holmes game :confused:) when they are 9-12 deep and should run all night. If anybody really thinks Simon Kenton was going to win is totally mind numbing to me. The state can say what you want. From EC to Scott County to where ever. I said it before. The only team that can beat Holmes, is HOLMES!!!Period :thumb: That goes from the players to the coaches. To be honest the fans. A team like this and does not sell out once!
