Sending aids vaccines and mosquito nets is not giving people money over and over. It is so easy for liberals to throw up pictures of poor and impoverished people to try and make others feel guilty for being successful. I'm talking about the difference between a helping hand and a handout. A helping hand pulls somebody up and gets them on their feet. A handout makes them hold heir hand out again. I'm talking about gererational welfare. Where kids are raised not seeing their parents go to work and believe that's what life is. I'm talking about createing a permanent underclass by making them dependent instead of helping them become productive.

I was asked and I gave. As long as there are poor and hungry and needy people, we will need to improve what we do. You complain about taxes and taking your gun rights away, how is that any different than me complaining about not giving enough to poor people? You don't like Obama, when are you going to leave? Since you chose to ignore my links, I'll use yours. Even using your own link, the United States ranks 5th out of 21 in terms of private giving as a percentage of GDP (at 1.3%). They rank 17th out of 21 in terms of government giving as a percentage of GDP (at 6%). So yes, the government gives more- because they have the ability to forcefully take it from others. If we leave more in the hands of citizens, one can only assume that our rank (of 5th) will only increase. (BTW, it is worth noting economically liberal (by liberal I mean low taxation) Ireland's private citizens outgive South Korea's entire country (as a percentage of GDP)) As for the other link from the Christian Science Monitor, in terms of giving per citizen, our government forces us to give $.13 a day ($46.28 a year). Private giving- completely, 100% willing- is $.05 a day ($18.25 a year).. Don't you see it, ace? Don't you realize that, despite the enormous amount of money that our government takes from us, private Americans continue to give? Don't you also see that, despite the enormous amount of money our government takes from us, the American government continues to lack in terms of public giving compared to other countries? It doesn't matter if it is Republicans or Democrats in office- neither is going to do too much for the poor of the world. To me, as evidenced by the fact that private American citizens continue to give and give and give, despite what I think is heavy taxation, the logical conclusion is to leave more money in the private citizens hands- because they are the ones who have proven to give.

AMAZING Point to one post where I complained about gun rights. Amazing, just amazing. The difference is that I don't condemn the whole country when I complain about the actions of the government and the gas bags that we have had the poor judgement to elect, nor do I try to show how we lag behind other countries that some (maybe you) feel are morally superior to us.
