32nd - Grant County wins the district over Walton-Verona. Grant County's upperclassmen have been waiting for this year. They need to grab the brass ring now against youthful opponents. SK is probably a year away. Williamstown is experienced and has had a nice year - rebounding nicely from three frustrating years - but probably a few guns short of being able to contend for the title, although an upset win over W-V wouldn't surprise.

 

It will be Grant over Walton and SK over Williamstown......with Grant over SK to win the district.

Yes, Owen has been very inconsistent this year, but Devin Duvall always gets his teams going when tournament time comes around. If Gamble gets hot, then that will open things up for Shelton and Colligan inside and no other team in the district can match up with Owen's height. Plus with Marston's ability to penetrate the lane, that will open things up for shooters. Owen just needs a 5th player to step up right now.

 

It wouldn't be a huge surprise to see Owen make a strong run. I picked them as the dark horse to win the region in pre-season. They have the talent, for sure...but it's awfully hard to suddenly start playing your "A" game at the start of the tournaments...

 

I like the Rebels' talent, and Duvall is an excellent coach.

I agree Owen does have the talent to play with any team in the 8th. They proved that by only being down 1 to Anderson at the half, I know Anderson ended up winning big but if Owen gets hot they will be a tough out.

Hazard was overrated last year & again this year as they have benefit of a good draw in the state in 08' good draw in All A this year. I believe the 14th Region has another good draw this year in the state.

North Oldham was clobbered by Elliott last year in the 5th 3rd by 26! I'll stick to my original statement the 8th is weak especially compared to what it used to be. The whole 8th owes the KHSAA big time by having Scott Co move.

Scott Co. was ranked 3rd in the state last year going into the post season. The only problem is Bryan Station and LexCath was ranked 1 and 2. Now, I am not saying they are the best 3 teams in he state, but they were probably top 5 easily. I know Scott Co. and Bryan Station both beat Mason, at Mason pretty soundly after Christmas.
