WLGC was reporting this morning that score was never corrected and Greenup was never credited with the point.

This is what I was told about the game. Greenup county was at the foul line and missed a free throw, the scorekeeper hit the button and gave Greenup the point instead of taking it off he left it and when Greenup made their next basket he only gave them one point and that would have made everything right. Yes he probably should have corrected it from the beginning but he didnt and everything ended out ok. Like I said this is what I was told I am sure some will say otherwise and thats ok. Correct me if I am wrong.

 

Other than that congratulations to Rose Hill and nice game by the seniors tonight on their senior night.

According to ADI, official scorekeeper made a mistake and denied GC 1 point. Fraley was very gracious in his interview, basically saying mistakes happen.

This is a big win without Gregg.:clap: It sounds like the Muskies played an excellent 4th to get back in it. I hate to see someone get a loss though due to an offical error.

How come everybody else who was watching the game didn't catch the point going up on the board if their shouldn't have been one since they missed the free throw. I was their and WlGC and the newspaper this morning was correct with saying that Greenup had five 2pt field goals and 2 free throws in the 3rd quarter and the official score keeper had them down for 11pts. I add it up and it equals 12pts.:confused:

Corey Gregg played in the Ashland game last Friday.

 

Sparingly and with a lots of tape and a bad limp. No one is using it as an excuse for the loss. As I posted earlier, Ashland won because they wanted the win more than did Rose Hill. However, Gregg's injury is worth mentioning since we all, I assume, believe in "full disclosure", don't we?

I agree with coach Fraley and what he said in ADI. The point error in the 3rd quarter did not affect the overall outcome of the game. There was too much playing time left in the game. Plays down the stretch are what matter. If this error had happened with seconds left in the 4th quarter then IT WOULD matter. Same thing if a ref makes an incorrect call early in the game, like missing a goal tend, then that basket should have counted but didn't. These types of things only affect the game at the closing seconds of a game.

 

All that being said....... Both teams played an outstanding game with heart and hustle. Both teams should hold their heads high over how well they played. These two teams have the talent to make some noise in the next few weeks. Good job GC and RH.

I agree with you on that the 1 point should have not been a factor in this game. Coach Fraley done a great job on saying that last night after the game was over on the radio broadcast. But things do happen in a game and Greenup blew some missed oppurtunities late in the 4th quarter and the outcome of the game was still decided by the 1 missing point!!

Several of us Rose Hill fans noticed the error when it occurred . It did not appear the GC was trying to make a large issue of the error at the time, which was a bit surprising. Nonetheless, it was a very entertaining game. Hats off the Fraley, I thought he handled himself very well in this game. I am sure it's always tough to come back the first time to where you coached before. I hope he does well with GC.
