Mellencamp is alright, but Springsteen is in another league.

Both are great, but I'd have to go with Bruce. His songs really take me back in time.

I've been fortunate to see them both in concert. I'd give the slight edge to Mellencamp. I like his style a little better. I'd take Bob Seger over both of them.

Mellencamp.

Springsteen. His songwriting dwarfs Mellencamp's.

 

I agree. Keep in mind that, like me, Mack is a huge Mellencamp fan as well.

I have seen Mellencamp 10 times and Springsteen 9 times. I also think Springsteen's best 7 or 8 albums are better than Mellencamp's best. The only one I would throw in the mix is "Scarecrow".

To me Mellencamp is a great artist, but Springsteen is a giant in the music industry.
